PUBLISHER’S LETTER
How Do You Read the Magazine?
One of the members of the magazine’s vendor advisory board, Pedro Ramos from Agilence, sent me a photo of his 11-year-old daughter, Lily, eating breakfast while reading the facial recognition article in our May-June issue. When he asked her what she thought about the article, she said “Cool, Dad.”
In the twelve years we’ve been publishing the magazine, we’ve received a great deal of comments from readers about our articles. Sometimes the comments are critical, but the vast majority are positive. That’s a credit primarily to the loss prevention professionals who take the time to write on a subject about which they are passionate or to provide one of our writers their expertise on a subject.
We very much appreciate all of our contributors and ask each of you to consider how you can contribute to a future article in the magazine. If you are interested in writing an article or suggesting a topic for us to cover, always feel free to contact me at editor@LPportal.com.
Readership Survey
Seeing the photo of Lily reading the magazine at breakfast caused me to think about all the ways our readers consume the information we publish. We know that some of you prefer the print edition. You put it in your briefcase and read it at home, on the plane, or in your hotel room.
Some of you prefer our digital edition (digital.LPportal.com) that you read on your desktop or tablet PC. The digital edition provides an easy way to follow links to advertisers, print or email articles to associates, and access our digital archives.
In addition to our six print magazines per year, we also publish articles on our website (LPportal.com) and in our weekly e-newsletter, LP Insider, that goes out every Thursday. A great many of you visit our website often and subscribe to our e-newsletter.
We are always looking for ways to get you the information you want in the format and vehicle you prefer. To that end, we have put together a readership survey to give you an opportunity to tell us how you prefer to read the magazine. Please go to our website to find a link to the survey. To encourage you and thank you for your participation, we’ll randomly choose ten people to receive LP Magazine logoed shirts.
Renew Your Subscription
If you receive the print magazine, you have likely received an email notice or a false cover on your magazine asking you to renew your subscription. We are often asked why we have to have you renew a free subscription. It doesn’t make sense since there’s no money exchanged.
The U.S. Postal Service requires that our readers actually request to receive the magazine in writing every three years in order to earn the periodical postage rate, which is less expensive and delivered faster than bulk rate. So if you get an email request from us, please take a few seconds to respond so we can ensure that you continue to get the magazine. You can also renew your subscription or change your address any time at myLPmag.com. Any questions about your subscription or information about putting your entire organization on our mailing list can be sent to circulation@LPportal.com.
