News for the Friends of Lutherans Outdoors in SD WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY! by Carson Eggert
This past summer I got the wonderful opportunity to be a Volunteer at NeSoDak as a Deck Hand. As soon as I met the other staff, we just instantly clicked, and we were all on the same energy level the entire week. I was especially happy to be working along with the staff who was there when I was a camper. I also got the wonderful opportunity to do some fishing (A LOT of it), hang out with the staff, hang out with some of the campers, play games, be a part of the Christ Hike, and to be with Rev. Becky Senner and her confirmation students. Tuesday, during Confirmation Time, she asked us what our highs and lows were. Now that the week is over, I can finally answer that question. My high for the week was just being there with everyone and watching them grow closer to God. My low was leaving everybody I had grown closer to and not knowing if we’ll see each other again. I hope to see them next year. I’ve been going to NeSoDak since 1-2-3 Camp. After 1-2-3 Camp, I went to five years of Fishing Camp along with Confirmation Camp one of those same years. NeSoDak has been, and always will be, a special place for me and I want to keep going back.
