Problems

* Many parking places for motorcycles. * Parking lots aren't utilized efficiently. * Roads are too narrow for parking.

Geographic problems

* Sunburn problems make the parking lots hard to be cooled down. * Treacherous slopes inside the parking lots. * Hot winds in summer.

Design Purposes

* To expand the parking lots, integrating the parking areas is necessary. * The parking lots in the back of the female dormitory provides both students and residents for parking. * Combining the electrical system with student identifications. * Reducing the quantities of rubbish and cigarette.

Design Elements

* Solid spaces can improve the efficiency of parking places. * The white wall of buildings uses photocatalyst to purify the air. * The shadows of trees can solve the sunburn problem to improve air circulation. * 70% is made of glass, which helps to capture solar power better. * To combine with the flyover, we integrate with some empty places.

Theo Jansen from the Netherlands is an excellent artist who creates Strandbeest.

Strandbeast is made by moving kinetic structures.

We are motivated by Strandbeast because our concept is to promote the progress of our cultural advances by the accumulated newspapers.

Therefore, we determine to follow the spirit and integrate this concept into our design. “ Old Soul, new memories.”

Each generation transforms diverse forms in different periods. People paste the newspaper for passing the messages.

The zipper is our concept for expressing the grand opening of Xmas, so we simulate a glove shape for opening movement.
