DESIGN PHILOSOPHY Within the profession of Interior Design, I believe there is an incredible opportunity to impact the wellbeing of humankind. With this concept comes a vast responsibility to create compelling and well orchestrated spaces. Therefore, design should seek to be holistic and carry uniformity in its nature through spatial layout, lighting, and various aesthetic appeals. In the end, each designed space should make an impression on the user through well versed accommodation. Common Course of Brisbane is a high-end city club that draws its inspiration from the dynamic and ever-flowing Brisbane River. Situated on a bend of the Brisbane River in Australia, this innovative club reimagines the
essence
of
the
river's
movement
through a captivating and immersive space that reflects the city and river’s spirit. Common Course celebrates the Brisbane River as the heart of the city, an iconic element
that
binds
the
communities,
history, and nature of Brisbane together. The club's design is conceived as fluid forms and organic transitions, mirroring the river's winding path and the vibrant energy it infuses into the city.

RESEARCH The crash of the late 1880's plunged Sydney and Melbourne, AUS. into crisis. Though, Brisbane came out unscathed. The secret to this being population growth. Brisbane has had the highest rate of population growth since 1990 and reports the largest increase in job opportunities.

IDEC - ROOTS DESIGN COMPETITION
Roots, a campus respite center, embodies our
research
findings
in
a
nurturing
environment geared toward acknowledging and aiding typical mental health issues among college students. Our design ensures abundant access to natural light, embracing the
circadian
rhythm's
role
in
mood
regulation, and calming palettes based on the truths presented by color psychology. The space boasts many nutritional options promoting brain health, with a focus on the benefits of a healthy diet. The flexible spaces encourage customization, allowing students to dictate their engagement with the environment. Together, these design elements foster a supportive atmosphere to alleviate stress and reinforce emotional well-being.

Each pod can be reserved in 45 minute increments and accessed by student ID/key cards. By clicking the icon, students can view researchbased, educational tips on how to adjust lighting, sounds, and scents to cater to their needs.

GWYN’S GELATO LIGHTING DESIGN
Gwyn’s Gelato stands as an environment developed with intentions of providing cool and fresh service to all guests equipped with a large dining space and loft which both house a variety of comfortable seating types. Various goals for lighting were established in order
to
create
a
well
established service oriented atmosphere. The first being to use lighting to draw customers through the space to the central service
counter
and
the
second
goal
includes highlighting main accent walls as focal points. This is done in order to engage customers with the branding of Gwyn’s Gelato.

Commissioned to take a bungalow home through each phase of the design process in order to create an addition. All while, working
to
fit
with
the
historic
Richardsonian Romanesque design style, there will be a variety of stone materials on the exterior and plenty of interior wood elements. The home will also be required to fit the needs of the client’s aging parent. The home is located in Anderson, South Carolina and the spaced that will be redesigned include a larger kitchen, public entertainment space, a parent bedroom and bathroom suite, etc.
