“That which is Christ‐like within us shall be crucified. It shall suffer and be broken. And

that which is Christ‐like within us shall rise up. It shall love and create”. Michael Leunig As we carry the burdens of our humanity; experiencing disappointment, fear, regret, anguish and hardship, we look to the story of the resurrec on, believing in hope and freedom and in the power of God’s restoring love. As our unusually long term draws to a close, let us give thanks for the many successes and moments of joy we have each experienced. In the context of a complex and at mes confusing world let us rejoice in life’s simple pleasures and in the holiness of the ordinary everyday moments of grace. Amen.

STAFF NEWS May I take this opportunity to express our thanks and gra tude to both Mrs Margaret Dowling and Ms Jessica Badke for their me spent with us this term and to wish them well for the future. We also send best wishes to Mr Bill Kenny who is about to embark on long service leave for a period of rest, renewal and refreshment. We wish him joy and relaxa on in the months ahead. We offer special hear elt thanks also to Mrs Moya Hickey as she re res from her role as the Loreto Archivist. Mrs Hickey has given her love and commitment to this role for the past nine years and before that, as many of you would remember, Mrs Hickey held the role of Deputy Principal and teacher for more than 30 years. Her contribu on to the life and the heart of Loreto Coorparoo can never be overstated. Our debt of gra tude to her will be for always. P & F GALA DINNER DANCE It is with a sense of some excitement I warmly encourage you to “BLING IT ON” at the Loreto Gala Dinner Dance on May 28th. As a community of Loreto parents (and friends) this is a wonderful opportunity for us to ‘connect’ and to enjoy each other’s company in the context of a fun and felicitous evening. I am reliably informed that this is not an annual event so, in some ways, this makes it even more special. Opportuni es such as this are rare, so let’s make the most of this chance to celebrate that Lore an spirit of felicity in ac on. I look forward to seeing you there. (see flyer a ached for details) PS: Prize dona ons for the raffle are most welcome. Please contact Libby Oliver on 3394 9999 if you have a prize you can donate.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS In keeping with our commitment to environmental sustainability, I am pleased to advise that we will be producing an electronic version of the Loreto newsle er to trial from the commencement of Term Two, in the hope that, if successful, we can move to a full produc on from Term Three. Throughout Term Two, the newsle er will be produced in both forms (paper and electronic). The electronic version will be sent to parents via email with a website link. We hope that you will find this document easy to read and user friendly. PDF versions are also always available on our website if that is your preferred mode of access. I ask parents to please ensure that the College has up-to-date email addresses to ensure correct delivery of the e-Newsle er. During Term Two we will certainly welcome your feedback. Another means of electronic communica on being introduced at Loreto is a Twi er account. Twi er, as I am sure you know – certainly the girls know – is a text based message service effec ve for pos ng short messages (called Tweets). As of this week, Loreto has ac vated its own twi er account and you as members of this community are invited to follow us as we release messages to keep you up-to-date with the latest happenings and informa on from Loreto. Our account name is “LoretoCoorparoo” (NB: No space is deliberate). Once again, we look forward to your feedback. WHOLE SCHOOL SURVEY I am delighted with the high levels of response to this survey and thank you for your par cipa on. The survey closed with contribu ons from 88% of staff, 73% of parents and 67% of students. I thank you for your me and input. CONDOLENCES  We send our sympathies to Natasha Cleary (Year 11) and her family on the recent passing of Natasha’s grandmother. May she rest lovingly in God’s peace. Amen.  To Ms Sarah Bun ng we also send our hear elt thoughts and prayers. Last weekend both of Sarah’s grandmothers passed away. We pray for her family at this me of loss. May both grandmothers rest in God’s eternal peace. Amen. I take this opportunity to wish you a prayerful celebra on of Easter and happy holidays therea er. May the spirit of hope bring you joy and gra tude. God Bless.

Yours sincerely
