Volume 12 - 28 April, 2015 Dear Parents & Students
God help us with ideas, those thoughts which inform the way we live and the things we do. Let us not seize upon ideas, neither shall we hunt them down nor steal them away. Rather let us wait faithfully for them to approach, slowly and gently like creatures from the wild. And let them enter willingly into our hearts and come and go freely within the sanctuary of our contempla on, informing our souls as they arrive and being enlivened by the inspira on of our hearts as they leave. These shall be our truest thoughts. Our willing and effec ve ideas. Let us treasure their humble originality. Let us follow them gently back into the world with faith that they shall lead us to lives of harmony and integrity.
“When I talk to you” Michael Leunig
I offer this reflec on remembering that our Year 11 students will be away on Retreat later this week. May their spirits be renewed and nourished during this me so that God’s grace might flourish amongst them and within them. Amen.
I offer my sincere thanks to Mr Donnelly for his co‐ordina on and to Mrs Meecham and the staff involved for their generous leadership and commitment given to this important aspect of a Loreto Educa on.
GERMAN EXCHANGE I wish to thank the students and families involved in this year’s German Exchange program. Thank you for your generosity and your welcome. It has been such a delight to have our visitors with us and to see them enjoying their experience in Australia so much. We wish them con nued safety and happiness in their further travels to Sydney later this week. Special thanks to Frau Ward and Frau Stewart for their co‐ordina on and leadership.
CROSS COUNTRY
I would also like to thank Mrs Meg Stevens, Mrs Jane Wilkinson, the PE staff and teaching staff for their organisa on of yesterday’s interhouse Cross Country. This me we were blessed with perfect weather and the girls par cipated with spirit and enthusiasm. Par cular men on must be made of the facili es staff ‐ without their hard work in se ng up the course and spectator area at Whites Hill Reserve, this carnival could not happen. Congratula ons to Ward House who won the event.
BLAZERS The new Blazers have arrived and been distributed to the students. This is a reminder that Blazers are a compulsory component of the Winter Uniform, to be worn when travelling to and from school from May 1st and whenever the students are in public. The Blazer is a compulsory item for all students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10. (The Year 11 and 12 students do have an exemp on from this expecta on as they have an older version of the blazer which is not compulsory to be worn due to the heavy nature of the material which some mes makes it less appropriate to wear.)
