Volume 14 - 14 May, 2013 Dear Parents and Students This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday a me of great significance for us as Chris ans. We rejoice in the gi s of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, may we bear the fruits of Your Spirit:
Give us love, that is boundless, a healing energy which transforms the world; Give us joy, because no darkness or evil can overcome you; Give us peace, to quieten our hearts, and to free us from bi erness; Give us pa ence, to go on following you even when it is hard; Give us kindness, to reach out to our neighbour and to the person who needs to be loved; Give us goodness, to give with a generous heart and without ulterior mo ve; Give us faithfulness, to remain true to our commitments; Give us gentleness, to respect the freedom and integrity of others; Give us self‐control, to see our weaknesses and overcome them in your strength. Lord, may we bear the fruits of Your Spirit. Gala ons 5:22‐23
Reflec on: There is a gentle breeze, if we can but catch it, which blows all the me to help us on our journey through life to our final des na on. That breeze is the Holy Spirit. But the wind cannot be caught or used unless the sail is hoisted, and the hois ng is our task. We must be on the watch, ready to recognise it and play our part. God does hold us, and will lead us, if we want it; but we must want it. The Mystery of the Cross.
