A project for a temporary garden in Moscow summer 2019

The garden was inserted inside the Krasnopresnenskaya Square. A large mineral square which is also a subway interchange and close to the city's zoological garden This inclusion proved to be very happy and allowed the garden to fully express its potential. In our view, in fact, the gardens of the festival, despite being atolls in the center of the city, must not forget their relationship with it and open up to the public. This aspect of the intervention seems really successful, the garden is bordered by a fence-seat that develops for about 60 meters in length and a comfortable seat 60 centimeters wide welcomes those who pass, those who wait and those who play. Within this large circle a pure figure, the garden unfolds inside it like an organism made up of islands and stones with an organic earth and vegetation in contrast to the rigorous hard surface of the exterior. The reflective floor evokes water. We have chosen a red garden, in our idea of the garden in fact it is not only the flowers that are the protagonists but for most of the year the leaves are the most interesting. A spectacular garden always in bloom as the jury's request indicated could be just as spectacular for the choice of leaves. The choice of vegetation is therefore red, a collection of plants with red colored leaves allows to have a very strong and colorful global impact, then declining the coloring of the leaves in different shades and shapes, trees with red foliage (Maples); shrubs (berberis thunbergii and weigelia); herbaceous (cylindrical Imperata, coleus) and grasses (imperata cylindrical) On the ground the pavement has been mapped with polished steel mirrors, ranging in size from 18 to 50 centimeters, which reflect the sky, flowers, leaves and visitors The islands that contain vegetation travel from about 50 cm to about 10, a spectacular job has been done to respect the strongly organic fences that the project asked. The islands therefore gently degrade towards the center of the crater and in the thicker sections welcome trees and shrubs and in the smaller ones perennial herbaceous
