Ingleton & the Yorkshire Dales | 4 Days | 3 Iconic Summits

Three peaks. Two intense trekking days. One unforgettable adventure.

Welcome to the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge – an exhilarating trek across the rugged, windswept terrain of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, one of the UK’s most breathtaking and wild landscapes. Set against a backdrop of ancient limestone, cascading waterfalls, and sweeping moorland, this four day adventure is as beautiful as it is challenging.

The Challenge Breakdown:

Day 1: Welcome to the Dales

Coach transfer from LWC. Arrive at our base in Ingleton, a picturesque village nestled at the foot of Ingleborough, for dinner and a good night’s rest at the Hostel. Prepare yourself – the next two days will test your endurance and spirit.

Day 2: Pen-y-Ghent & Whernside: 2 Peaks, 1 Epic Push

Start the day with a short transfer to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, and then it’s straight into the action. First, we summit the dramatic Pen-y-Ghent (694m/2,276ft) with its steep ascent and exposed ridgelines. Then we push on across remote, rolling countryside to conquer Whernside – at 736m, it’s the highest of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Expect a long, physically demanding day of trekking, with sweeping panoramas and a fierce sense of accomplishment by day’s end.

Distance: approx. 16.5 miles; Ascent: 2,411ft

Day 3: Waterfalls, Wild Trails & the Final Summit: Ingleborough

After a challenging Day 2, we set out directly from our hostel along the famous Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, where spectacular falls tumble through ancient woodlands and rocky gorges.

But the adventure’s not over yet – we still have one final test: the steep climb to the summit of Ingleborough (723m/2,372ft), a dramatic flat-topped peak steeped in legend. We descend straight back to our hostel, tired but triumphant, ready to celebrate our three-peak conquest with an award ceremony and dinner.

Distance approx. 12 miles; Ascent: 2,760ft
