Thursday 16th BRAZIL Sapucaia
We had very interesting and instructive Bible Readings in Porto Alegre on the 28th, 29th and 30th of December 2022. In the five meetings arranged by the brethren, we profitably studied the five chapters of 1 Thessalonians.
Since then we have been visiting local assemblies in the Greater Porto Alegre area helping in their regular meetings. Of course, we continue with our gospel meeting in the room at the back of our home every Saturday night in Sapucaia do Sul. Presently, we are having very encouraging meetings as some of our neighbours are in the habit of attending and bringing others.
Beth and I continue to help as much as possible in the small assembly in São Leopoldo that meets in a hall about 6 miles north of us. As we seem to be passing through a lean time, we appeal to you for your prayers.

This week, we rented a disused shop in Canoas with a view to commencing a series of gospel meetings next week with our brother Carlinhos from the assembly in Fátima, Cachoeirinha. Although there is no assembly in Canoas, there are about ten believers in assembly fellowship scattered throughout that large town of 350,000 people, including Carlinhos, which is very helpful. Please pray that the gospel may be faithfully proclaimed to the glory of God, as well as to the blessing of the unsaved.
A 3 hour ministry meeting has been arranged for Capivari on the 11th of February, God willing. This assembly has seen better days, because, for the last 15 years or more, it has been like the boat on the stormy waters of the Sea of Galilee (John 6:16-21). We long for the day when those saints will “stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Philip.1:27).
The brethren of the Assembly in Porto Alegre have arranged their conference for Good Friday (7th of April). The chapter under discussion in the Bible Reading session will be Colossians 3. Please remember that day in your prayers.
We take this opportunity to thank you for your prayers, but please continue to pray for us and for the work of the Lord in Brazil. C. 1992
