What a lesson she teaches us in sharing love that surpasses knowledge.

It’s a Matter of the Heart

I

n October 2008, Lord of Life members Jim & Tina Glomstad’s daughter, Carly, read a book that she received for her fourth birthday called Love, Ruby Valentine by Laurie B. Friedman. The book is about a little girl named Ruby Valentine who loved Valentine’s Day so much that she would spend many days preparing and making goodie bags with treats and cards with glitter. On Valentine’s Day, Ruby would load them into a decorated wagon then pass them out to everyone in her town to make them smile and feel special. But alas! From all her hard work, Ruby overslept and missed Valentine’s Day. The story continued, “I can’t believe I missed Valentine’s—now I’ll have to wait a year, to tell everyone I love them—Ruby wiped away a tear.” Summoning up the courage to do what she still wanted to do, Ruby said to all the townspeople, “ ‘I know I’m so, so late,’ she cried, ‘but I’m so, so sorry too.’ ” And yet no one seemed to mind at all that their valentines were late. In fact, “that’s when Ruby realized that saying, ‘I love you!’ doesn’t have to wait ‘til Valentine’s—any day will do.”

Carly Glomstad loved that story and immediately said she wanted to do it too, because it seemed so nice to make people smile and feel special.

Parents Tina & Jim thought Carly would forget about it since Valentine’s Day was months away!

Carly didn’t forget. They tried to convince her to just pass out valentines & treats to the people on their street since they lived in such a big town and couldn’t really go to everyone. Carly didn’t like that idea at all because it wasn’t close enough to what Ruby Valentine had done in the book. So they asked Carly who she thought would most enjoy —story continues on Page 10 Happy Valentine’s Day to Lord of Life!

The Only Thing Permanent is Change

O

ne thing we can always count on in life is change. No matter how hard we try, we can’t prevent ourselves or the world from changing. Some changes are for the good, some are not so good. But whether it is positive or negative, change may be challenging, pulling us out of our normal routine, creating inconvenience, and disrupting our emotional and spiritual balance.

How can we best address change in our lives?

The first, perhaps most difficult, thing to do is to simply acknowledge that we’re in Pastor Phil Dell the midst of change, which means a time of transition. Navigation of change begins with this acknowledgement, followed by an honest assessment of the change. This stage is often filled with emotion—happiness, sadness, excitement, hesitation—as we face what is ahead.

The next step is letting go of any fear and anxiety that may come with that acknowledgment, saying “I can handle this.” Once there, successful management of change can begin.

Once we have accepted the reality of the change, it is time to create a plan for addressing it. This will involve small steps and small changes. It will be one day at a time, sometimes one step forward then two steps back but always looking forward.

It’s also important to constantly forgive oneself, accepting God’s grace. The transition won’t be smooth and constant. Successful management of change only comes with an ability to look in the mirror and say, “I’m not perfect but I have to keep going for my sake and the sake of those who love and depend on me.” It means letting God’s unconditional love fill our hearts. It takes courage and strength; and true courage and strength along with true peace come from God. It also helps to have one or two key people who know your strengths and weaknesses and can give you honest and constructive feedback.

What is Shrove Tuesday?

S

hrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. To “shrive” means to confess one’s sins and to be absolved from those sins.

You may know this day as Mardi Gras (literally “Fat Tuesday” in French). People were called to church on the day before Lent to confess their sins, to be “shriven.” There are other practices related to Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras: On this day before Lent, families often eat pancakes and fried doughnuts to use up the butter, eggs, and dairy products that are not eaten during Lent.

In some traditions, people prepare for Lent by removing knickknacks and beginning to spring clean their homes.

Many people fast or refrain from eating certain foods during Lent as a way to spiritually prepare themselves for Easter.

You may want to start a Lenten tradition in your own household. Eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday (February 21) and all of the Tuesdays in Lent. Put the equivalent of the money you save with this simple meal in your ELCA World Hunger Bank (see Page 17) or visually fast by putting away a favorite knick-knack or decoration in your home and leaving the space open. Recognize the forty days of Lent as a time of repentance, soul-searching, and reflection preparing for the glorious celebration on Easter.

Open Our Hearts to Listen

by Alice Cummings, Director of Worship and Garden Ministries Matthew 16:24-28 “Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world

A

t this point in the gospel of Matthew, Jesus starts to get really serious. Here He lays out three steps the disciples need to take to truly be His followers: They must first deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him. And friends, these are the same steps we need to take. But what exactly did Jesus mean? If it wasn’t completely clear to the disciples, who were with Him every day, how can it be clear to us? We have to ask hard questions, and open our hearts to listen closely for the answers. First we ask Jesus—what do we need to deny ourselves of? Maybe it’s a trait, like pride or anger. Or maybe a habit, or an addiction to a substance or a behavior. It is anything that prevents us from giving ourselves over to Him completely. Next we ask—what is this cross I need to bear? It will be something that He wants us to do, needs us to do, and that may likely be very difficult. One way to recognize this is to pay attention to promptings, little nudges. And finally we ask—how we should follow Him? This virtually always involves serving others in Jesus’ name.

a personal example

Several years ago I was in a very difficult, and for me, terrifying situation.

I found out on a Saturday morning that the lay reader for church that Sunday had been called out of town on an emergency, and I needed to find a will they give in return for replacement. To make matters worse, it was a summer weekend, and no one their life? For the Son of Man is else was available. This time I could feel myself getting that panicky feeling as I drove to church, but I reminded myself of what I had learned and was able to calm down, go to church and do the reading, still nervous, but much less so. From then on I read every chance I could, eventually overcoming the fear and finding a new way to gladly serve God and his people. but forfeit their life? Or what

My three steps involved denying myself the fear and pride that kept me from being a lay reader, taking up the cross of the hard work in overcoming that behavior, and serving God by sharing His word. What habit or behavior do you have that is preventing you from following Jesus and doing God’s work? Try to think of it in terms of Jesus’ three steps and see what wonders may happen. If I can do it, so can you—with God’s help, of course!

Let us pray: Gracious God, we are powerless to do anything without your help, including serving you. Help us know what keeps us from giving ourselves up to you, and keep us strong in our efforts to bear our cross in whatever form it takes, so that we can serve you with our whole hearts. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Journey We Must Take

T

here is grief after the loss of a loved one. Grief is defined as an intense emotional suffering caused by a loss, usually a circumstance thought to be unjust. This is something that we will all experience in life. Ecclesiastes tells us that, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die…a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

With the death of a loved one, we start a journey. It’s not what we planned, but in its time, it is a journey we must take. When my father died, I remember someone saying to me, “Karen, face this head-on now because grief waits for you.” This was good counsel because even though I did not want to be on this journey, taking it was healing and avoiding the pain or stuffing of emotions would only prolong the inevitable need to work through grief.

It’s important to remember that we all interpret and see life uniquely. Experiencing grief is no different. When we set out on this journey of grief we each interpret and experience it differently. That’s ok. Dr. Larry Crabb says, “Be whoever you are. Your own pattern of grief will be your pattern of grief.” It is important to understand that when we travel this journey of grief, our grief will not resemble that of others and what helps others may not help us. Prayerfully consider becoming a part of the Lord of Life Prayer Network. Prayer requests are received daily and then sent on to members of the Prayer Network either by email or phone. Do you have the gift of encouragement? This is another great way to serve from home. Help write cards to our Lord of Life members who are in need of prayers and uplifting words. Adult Confirmation Begins

A

dult confirmation offers adults an opportunity to learn more about what it means to be a Lutheran and to make a public affirmation of faith. The class will be held at 11 am on Sundays, February 5-March 18 with an affirmation of baptism (confirmation) service on March 24.

Led by Pastor Karen Geisendorfer-Lindgren and assisted by Ina Barton, you will learn why Lutherans do what they do in worship. The class will review the meaning of the two sacraments: Holy Communion and Holy Baptism. The Small Catechism (including the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostles’ Creed and the Ten Commandments) will be studied. Discussions will include Martin Luther and the Reformation and most importantly God’s amazing gift of grace.

Using a “hands-on” Bible study method of asking God to guide your reading and speak to you through His word, any and all questions are valid, noting context and trying to understand the writer’s purpose and audience. Along with commentaries and others’ viewpoints, you will draw conclusions and apply these learnings to your own life.

Get into the Tub!

T

his past week I witnessed God’s healing in a very interesting way.

A dear woman named Jen was hospitalized for an extremely serious condition and faced life-threatening surgery. The family had prepared her will and gathered together in support. After spending two days at the hospital in prayer, I believed that maybe the Lord’s way of healing for her was death because she was not improving. Death can be a form of healing as there is no longer any suffering or pain, but offers the promise of eternity with our Lord. Still, death is a hard lesson in healing. I reminded myself that God always has a plan, hears every prayer, and desires healing for each of us.

The day before her surgery as we were praying, the Lord led us to imagine that Jen was in a bathtub surrounded by warm water, comfortable and relaxed. As we visualized, I read a medley of Bible verses on hope. God’s offer of hope through Jesus, hope for healing and hope in His promise of salvation, hope in His love, mercy and forgiveness. It was a wonderful time of prayer being bathed in the tub of God’s word. This resulted in peace for Jen and acceptance of whatever surgery might bring.

Amazingly the next morning as the surgeon was taking one last check before the surgery, he was surprised to discover this procedure may not be necessary. After a few tests were completed to be sure, it was decided that the procedure would be cancelled. The family was overjoyed as they had previously prepared for possible death. Thanks be to God the great physician and healer.

Our part is to bathe each other in prayer and God’s part is to heal as He desires.

A Parable of the Potter and the Pitcher

T

here was a potter who needed a pitcher for the milk she poured over her cereal every morning. So she measured the height of the shelves in her refrigerator and calculated the necessary dimensions for a half-gallon pitcher. She went to her studio, chose the clay she thought best and sat at her wheel. She made a shape pleasing to her eyes and put on a handle shaped to her hand. She brushed on a glaze of color, fired it, and saw that she had created a beautiful pitcher. She took it home, filled it with milk, put it in the refrigerator, and went to bed. The next morning the potter poured a bowl of cereal, opened the refrigerator, and reached for her new pitcher.

The pitcher of milk suddenly shouted, “Oh, no you don’t! Keep your hands off.”

The potter responded, “I was just going to pour some milk on my cereal.”

“No, you’re not!” replied the pitcher, “I worked hard to get this. I started out with no milk at all, but through hard work and careful stewardship, I am now full of milk. No one’s going to come along and pour out all that I’ve achieved!”

“Hmmm,” pondered the potter, “I don’t think you understand. You see, I created you for the express purpose of filling you with milk so that I could pour it out each morning on my cereal. You were made to pour, not to store!”

“A nice story, but I don’t get it,” said the pitcher, “but seeing that you are in need and I am a generous pitcher, I will give you two tablespoons of my milk. That should wet the cereal nicely.”

The potter looked deeply into the heart of the pitcher. “You’re afraid,” the potter said, “if you allow me to pour out the milk you will find yourself empty and then you will be poor. You don’t realize that if you allow me to empty you, I will continue to fill you to the top over and over and over again and we will become partners in emptying and refilling you. Perhaps, if you Lord of Life Weekly Giving — December 2011 are willing to be emptied more completely and more often, I will find many other bowls of $250,000 cereal who are longing to be drowned in the love of your giving.”

“And what if I don’t believe you and want to play it safe and just keep the milk I’ve got?” the pitcher inquired.

getting a valentine visit from her. Her answer was so sweet: “...probably kids because they like candy, probably people who are sick because they might need to be cheered up, and also anyone who might not get a visitor or be invited to a party on Valentine’s Day.” As practical parents Tina & Jim explained this project could get to be expensive. Carly immediately counted all the money in her piggy bank which equaled $48.75—and she was prepared to spend all of it!

The Glomstads sent out a letter to friends and family describing Carly’s project to see if anyone wanted to help or get involved or send a note of encouragement—and boy, did they ever! As the word spread, the Glomstads were amazed at friends’ and families’ generosity of spirit.

The first year in 2009, Carly raised over four hundred dollars and made 115 goodie bags and cards with glitter (with help from brother Brian). Then Carly and her entire family delivered them to four locations: the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, the Kids Care Connection or “KCC” (a non-profit daycare center in Plymouth), the Golden Living Center (a nursing home/assisted living residence in Wayzata), and Community Living (a residence for adults with developmental disabilities in Coon Rapids).

to the Crisis Nursery. You see, it’s not simply a matter of giving goodie bags—which are definitely a fun part of this project—rather it’s all a matter of the heart where Carly is concerned.

The third year in 2011, Carly raised over two thousand dollars, made 320 goodie bags and cards with glitter, and delivered them to people at the five locations plus two more: Freedom Pointe Assisted Living in Minnetonka and Hope Lodge temporary residence for cancer patients in Minneapolis. It was extra special this year because Carly was assisted by lots of kids—she inspired them to help in the efforts and feel a part of what she was doing. Carly’s kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Westman, received approval

The second year in 2010, Carly raised over a thousand dollars, made 165 goodie bags and cards with glitter delivering them to people at the four locations above plus added a fifth: River Oaks (an assisted living residence in Anoka). The local NBC-affiliate KARE11 heard about Carly’s project and joined in at a couple stops on delivery day. Carly was on the news in several states and timeslots!

from Greenwood’s school principal, Mr. Gustafson, to allow all five kindergarten classes to help stuff 105 goodie bags. And each student made an additional card to send to the Golden Living Center and Freedom Pointe. A confirmation class at Our Father’s Lutheran in Rockford helped stuff 125 goodie bags and collected additional donations for Hope Lodge. Carly’s Girl Scout Daisy Troop 15036 stuffed 20 goodie bags, made special cards, and went along with Carly delivering to the Crisis Nursery, getting a tour of the facility while earning a “Sharing and Caring” badge. What a learning experience for both parents and children, increasing awareness of needs within the community!

Also that year because of generous donations, Carly gave a $500 scholarship to KCC and $330 to Crisis Nursery and $385 to Hope Lodge for items needed on their wish lists.

Now for the fourth year in 2012, Carly’s plans are to visit the same seven locations and add one more: Park Gardens (an assisted living residence in Fergus Falls).

Carly’s goal this year is to deliver over 400 goodie bags and cards and continue to donate any surplus funds to a KCC scholarship and items on their wish lists for Crisis Nursery and Hope Lodge. Also this year, Carly will have goodie bag help from Greenwood Elementary’s first grade students, led by Carly’s teacher Mrs. Dvorak.

Carly’s Daisy troop will once again make goodie bags and deliver them with Carly to the Crisis Nursery.

Goodie bags, cards and glitter are fun, yet the connections made between Carly and the recipients have been

especially poignant, from Hope Lodge cancer patients to children in daycare. Hundreds of hugs have been given and received; some of these recipients have felt just like ‘part of the family’ after being touched

by Carly’s project.

The key message here is not necessarily how much money was raised (although it is pretty amazing for a child her age to inspire this kind of generosity!), but to realize what Carly has given from the heart, demonstrating how to make someone feel extra special.

The Glomstads would like to thank family and friends along with teachers and students for their generosity. Even author Laurie B. Friedman responded by sending autographed books, buttons, and bookmarks as encouragement.

Getting back to the book’s final pages—the story closes with, “So now she sends out cards all year that say ‘Will you be mine?’ And she signs each and every one...Love, Ruby Valentine!”

Here at Lord of Life may we all learn a lesson from this little girl about how love, which surpasses knowledge, may be shared. Not simply on Valentine’s Day, but the day after and the day after that and the day after that and all year long.

Older Wiser Lutherans (OWLs)

Schubert Club

O

n Thursday, December 15, the OWLs traveled to the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul. Built in 1902, this former federal courts building now houses The Schubert Club Museum.

The history of piano development was told by the tour guide as they viewed some of the many keyboard instruments owned by the society.

This fascinating collection also contains many valuable letters written by famous musicians, music boxes, This photo was taken near a sculpture of old, unusable musical instruments from around the world!

Victrolas, Thai drums and many other interesting musical instruments. The OWLs then attended a courtroom concert given by students of The Saint Paul Conservatory of Music. These talented, young musicians (the youngest was 8 years old) played a variety of instruments such as recorders, strings, harpsicord; they also sang. It was a wonderful concert by a very impressive group of students!

Afterwards the OWLs walked across the street to The Saint Paul Hotel for a delicious lunch in The Grille.

ells rang out at the OWLs’ Christmas party declaring the beginning of the celebration that Jesus is the King born for you and me.

Pastor Peter talked about “God’s Gift Exchange” as God is willing to exchange our worries and hurts with His peace and comfort. Mary Larson shared her faith and gift of music. Some of the songs she blessed the group with were “Mary, Did You Know?” and “O Holy Night” plus a piece about when Jesus comes again called “End of the Beginning.” Come on ring those bells—Jesus is the King!!

OWLs events Thursday, February 2: Valentine’s Party at Lord of Life begins at 12 noon with a freewill donation lunch. Our theme is Love Stories to Warm Hearts with special guest International Storyteller Pati Kachel. After lunch at the History Center’s Café Minnesota, we will go to the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis to see Antiquities From Ukraine: Golden Treasures and Lost Civilizations—one of only three American venues hosting this private collection. nspired Images is a stamping and scrapbooking ministry at Lord of Life.

Led by Lynn Anderson and Lisa Gedker, Inspired Images’ mission statement is “to use the God-given gifts and talents in service and support of Lord of Life ministries acknowledging the concerns and joys of others.”

Inspired Images meets twice a month with a focus on service and fellowship. Friday meetings are typically used for personal projects you bring and work on individually. Saturday meetings usually are devoted to working on service projects. For service projects, materials are supplied and projects are prepared in advance. Lots of help assembling projects is needed on those days!

Teens and adults of all experience levels are welcome! If having childcare available would enable you to attend, please let us know, and we will see if arrangements can be made.

A God Moment

O

ne sunny and warm day in September, my husband Gordy and I decided to travel to Minnesota State University (Mankato) to see our son’s away football game. At halftime, we decided to find relief from the sun and descended some steps near by. It wasn’t an exit, but a storage area. It was quickly evident that Gordy, a diabetic, was not well. After helping him as much as I could, I realized I would need help. I turned around and standing in front of me was a couple. I looked at the woman and said, “Are you a nurse?” and the gentleman replied, “I am a doctor.” I quickly told him the situation and he took over until the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) arrived summoned by his wife. The EMTs checked Gordy’s vitals. They suggested that he was suffering from a heat collapse and that the ambulance was cool and would possibly help.

The head coach’s wife saw us get into the ambulance and came to offer her help. She told us the name of the doctor who helped us. Their son was a player on our son’s Northern State University (NSU) football team in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

As we related to our son the events of the day including the doctor after the game, our son said, “Mom, that’s my personal doctor.” It was indeed a “God Moment!!” By the way, our son told us that it was 105°F on the field that day. We were sitting on aluminum bleachers facing the afternoon west sun.

What’s a God moment? Perhaps it is an uncanny coincidence of events and as a believer you feel it is God’s gracious work being done in your life. Perhaps it is a holy moment of reverence & awe of God’s creation. We welcome you to send your God moment to LifeTIMES Editor Bev Mello.

Acts 29 Trip

hat is Acts 29? Five years ago we felt called to lead a mission trip to help our brothers and sisters in need within the United States. Thus the trip began in 2007 with 16 people going to Biloxi, Mississippi. There we helped rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina. We continued to go to the Gulf Coast for four more years.

Why is this mission called Acts 29?

Five years ago, Pastor Peter preached a sermon titled Acts 29. He shared how the book of Acts is the story of the beginnings of the church. In Acts 1:8, Jesus says, “And you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”

There is no Chapter 29 in the book of Acts. God’s people are the witnesses and are still writing the story each and every day. We decided this would be a great name for our mission trip.

What are details of the 2012 trip?

This year we will be going to help our neighbors to the northwest in Minot, North Dakota. The trip is scheduled from July 29-August 4.

In the summer of 2011, Minot was devastated by flooding with 25% of homes destroyed and over 11,000 people evacuated. Acts 29 will be working through Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR).

Mother and Daughter Serving Together

H

ope Lodge offers adult cancer patients and caregivers a free place to stay while they receive treatment.

Volunteers from Lord of Life visit Hope Lodge at least twice each month to serve guests a hot meal. I had such a wonderful time with the guests during my first visit to Hope Lodge this past November that I wanted to share the experience with my 8-year-old daughter, Jenna. On December 19, Jenna went to Hope Lodge for the first time. She shares her own story below:

“I wanted to go to Hope Lodge because I like to meet new people and help them. When I was there, I helped my new friend, Terry Robertson, make milkshakes and then I passed them out to all of the guests. I also colored a lot of Christmas pictures—trees, bells, candy canes, and a stocking with a mouse in it—and passed them out so the guests could decorate their rooms for Christmas.

My favorite part about going to Hope Lodge was eating with the guests; I ate a lot and the dessert was awesome! I also liked meeting all of the new people like Janet and Leonard, who ate dinner with us. They told me that they had a granddaughter my age. I want to go back to Hope Lodge every single time.

I’m going back to celebrate my 9th birthday with the guests. My mom and I are going to bring cupcakes with sprinkles so we can all celebrate together. I hope I get to help Terry make milkshakes and pass them out again. I’m planning to cut out snowflakes for all of the guests so they can hang them up in their room.

I can’t wait!!”

Then it’s a Valentine’s Day celebration filled with special deliveries for all our preschool friends. Fresh from the oven, there will be pizza for everyone as we have cheesy & fun pizza parties. A fitness field trip to Velocity Sports will be in our fantastic February. And as part of our ongoing community service project serving the Ronald McDonald House, we will be collecting new books for the residents because February is “I Love to Read” month.

We conclude the month with a two-week series called Little Travelers. Students will learn about different countries, languages, food, and cultural traditions; first up are Jamaica and Mexico. We continue to take registration for the 2012-13 school year.

And so began the performance of True Light, Lord of Life’s 2011 children’s Christmas musical. From a chorus of angels and wisemen on a bumpy camel ride to innkeepers with an attitude and shepherds in the field—it was a celebration of Jesus as the True Light in our lives. During Lent, Church School children are collecting money for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) World Hunger Appeal using special banks.

These banks may be placed on their dinner tables to collect change each time they share a meal. The banks are returned to Church School classes or the office anytime in April. If you don’t have children in the Church School program you may join in the effort by picking up a bank at the Youth Booth or CYF office. Through the ELCA, your gift will provide food, clean water, seeds, tools, trees, animals, life and hope. Thank you!

Growing Families of Faith Hits the Slopes

amilies from Lord of Life will hit the slopes at Wild Mountain near Taylors Falls on Saturday, February 25! We will all gather at the ski area itself, so come as early as you choose and leave when you need to! At 11:30 am we’ll gather in the chalet and have a family meal together. The cost for the day is $40 for adults, $36 for kids below age 18. That cost includes both our lift ticket and the lunch together. The cost of equipment rental (skis or snowboards) is $20 for the day. Souper Bowl!

ore than 20 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group: “Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.” Since that day, more than $81 million has been raised for local charities across the country through Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around the Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving.

Through this mission, young people learn what it’s like to make a positive difference in the world as they collect food, raise money, and volunteer to work in charities that provide shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry, and compassion to those in need.

Be a part of this movement that is sharing God’s love. Please give generously on Super Bowl Weekend. Lord of Life is collecting soup from February 4-12. Your donation will be given to CROSS, the local foodshelf.

Last year Lord of Life donated 673 cans; our four-year total is 1,815.

summer stretch!

For youth completing grades 6-9, Summer Stretch is an exciting six-week service program with both Wednesday and Thursday options. We spend each morning in service and each afternoon playing. Some organizations we’ll be working with will be Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), Emergency Foodshelf Network (EFN), Global Health Ministries, CommonBond, and more. Recreation sites will include the Waterpark of America, Brunswick Zone, Camp Ihduhapi, Bunker Beach and more. Cost is $225.

Registration opens on February 18 and closes on March 3.

Everyone who registers during that time will have a spot; when registration closes, registrations will no longer be taken. So be sure to register and tell all your friends to do so as well! Quake is an event where youth groups from around the Midwest gather for fun, fellowship, music, workshops, dances and a ton more stuff! Held at the Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells, music will be by Captive Free and Peder Eide. Pack a swimsuit, your Bible and a fun attitude! Cost is $280 ($250 if registered before February 1); register at lordoflife.org/youthquake with a $50 deposit.
