STORE 83 TILL INFINITY! With Progress kicking off in late 2024, we began work on a major transformation of Store 83 and its warehouse. Originally purchased in 1990 from Norman Fieldgate Ltd, this location has been a cornerstone of Lordco for more than 30 years. With the development of our new Port Coquitlam warehouse, big questions were asked about what the next chapter for this space could be, and the answer was a bold refresh that honors its history while setting it up for the future. The result is a fully renovated location that’s quickly becoming a new hotspot for the trades in the Lower Mainland. We expanded the retail space by nearly 50% and welcomed industry partners Gulliven for electronic needs and Wakefield for everything oil-related, creating a collaborative hub that better serves our customers and community. With doors opening on December 16, we were able to put a holiday bow on a project that spanned multiple teams, including Merchandising, Project Management, and most importantly, the local Store 83 staff. Huge congratulations to everyone involved! Especially the team on the ground who adapted to constant change while continuing to show up and serve customers every day. This was a true team win, and it shows!

MUSCULOSKELETAL INJURY (MSI) P R E V E N T I O N
A W A R E N E S S
This month, we’re looking at Musculoskeletal Injury (MSI) Prevention Awareness! This month is all about raising awareness for preventable injuries and spreading the importance of working, playing, and living safely. We will be looking at MSIs to learn what they are and how to keep ourselves and each other safe! What Is a Musculoskeletal Injury (MSI)? Some of the tasks at work – such as lifting, reaching, and repetition of movements, can cause strain. In some cases, these repetitive, straining tasks can result in an injury to the body. Areas affected can include muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, or blood vessels. Additionally, joints in the neck, shoulders, arms, wrists, legs, and back may be affected. Musculoskeletal injuries are a very common workplace injury in Canada and MSIs are also the most common type of injury at Lordco. Since these injuries are so common, it’s important to know the signs and how to prevent these injuries from occurring. Signs and Symptoms of Musculoskeletal Injuries Signs of a musculoskeletal injury, which can be observed, include swelling, redness, and difficulty moving certain body parts. Symptoms, which can be felt, include numbness, tingling, or pain in the body. If you are experiencing any of these signs or symptoms, be sure to speak with your supervisor to ensure that you receive the proper care and adjustments you need to keep yourself working safely. How Can We Prevent Musculoskeletal Injuries? There are plenty of ways to prevent musculoskeletal injuries, but below are some tips to help: 1. Warm up and stretch. Before starting repetitive, static, or prolonged activities, be sure to warm up and stretch 2. Take breaks. If possible, take breaks from repetitive functions by switching tasks every so often. 3. Implement control measures. Use proper lifting techniques and ergonomic equipment whenever possible. 4. Stay fit. Take care of your body and make sure it is in good condition to prevent injuries. Caleb McCreedy - Port Coquitlam #6 I happened to meet up this afternoon with a long time friend Hal Kinsey) that wanted to express his thanks to one of our drivers recently. On December 5th (Friday he believes) that after leaving Lordco he headed to McDonald's on the Oxford Connector and his tire hit the curb and rapidly went flat. One of our drivers happened to stop and other assistance. He had an air compressor in the car. That attempt failed. So he called BCAA. Hal was most impressed that the same driver came by twice more to make sure that he was okay. I had asked him if he remembered the car number and a description of the driver. I wanted to be sure that this was brought to your attention that this customer was most impressed that this coworker went "above and beyond" for a Lordco customer.
