Professional Internships  College is involved in pushing students to look at the “Big     

Picture” We teach the process of identifying, applying for, and interviewing for internships Maintain good relationships with area employers Sponsor networking programs with alumni and area CEO’s Support experiences that are non-credit and for-credit.

Requires completion of 40 credit hours with 2.5+ gpa Linked to affiliates in Chicago and Washington DC

Affiliates  Chicago Center  Through Roosevelt University  100% of college aid goes with student for tuition  Washington Center  50% of aid goes with student for tuition

Service Learning  Coordinator works with faculty to insert community

service within the curriculum 

Water testing for City of Dubuque with Biology classes

 Oversees AmeriCorps in Dubuque  Full-time professional opportunities for graduates  Largest program in state among private schools  Generates Community Work-Study opportunities  Open to students with WS in financial aid packages

International Education  Under new leadership for fall 2011  Dr. Mark Kehren, Asst. Professor of History  Signature programs in Ireland, Spain, South Africa

 Affiliate connections to worldwide programs

 Planning Costs? S. Africa about the same as LC; Ireland, more

expensive

 The majority of students studying overseas and interning

complete their degree in four years

Job & Internship Search Tactics  Closely work with faculty on class presentations and

assignments  Workshops delivered in residence halls, student club

meetings, and in general sessions throughout semester  Invitations extended to collegiate career fairs throughout

the year  Focus on all dimensions of the job search
