Welcome to French Creek Theatre Welcome to the 2016-2017 French Creek Theatre Season! Jacqi Loewy returns to French Creek as the director of Jekyll & Hyde. I am so pleased to have Jacqi back; she has directed two previous TrueNorth productions, and was commissioned to write a play based on the dance halls along Lake Erie, titled 10 Cents a Dance, which we premiered a few years back. She is accompanied by an all-star production team and cast. Please take time to read their incredible stories in our Bio Section of this program. I continue to be both amazed and humbled by the talent which graces our team, both on- and off-stage, on a continual basis. My sincere thanks to each of you.

CAST Joseph M. Bennett (Sir Archibald Proops/ Poole) graduated in 1979 from Grand Rapids College and Seminary. On becoming semi-retired, he is pleased to be able to indulge in his love of musical theatre. In the past year, he has played Senator Fipp in Urinetown (Mighty Goliath Productions), and joined the ensemble of Sweeney Todd (The MAD Factory). Thanks to family, friends, and Studio for their support. Megan Campana (Lady Beaconsfield/ Bar Maid) is honored and excited to be a part of this extremely talented cast of Jekyll and Hyde. Megan has been actively involved with the Lorain Community Music Theater as the hair and makeup artist since 2008. Earlier this year, Megan made her on-stage theater debut as part of the Ensemble in Godspell at the French Creek Theater (formerly known as TrueNorth). By day, Megan works as a mortgage closer for a local mortgage company. Megan is also Pg. 14 actively involved in the St. Peter (Lorain) church choir,
Project Praise, under the direction of Mr. Anthony Trifiletti, and as a cantor at the church. She is also a member of Choral Spectrum, a local chamber choir under the direction of Dr. Ted Williams. Megan would like to thank Jacqi Loewy for this opportunity to be part of such an amazing cast. To her cast mates (and to quote one of her favorite musicals): “Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better, but because I knew you, I have been changed for good.” Emmy Cohen (Street Urchin) Emmy is a C l e v e l a n d area actor and comedian. Most recently she appeared in The Senator Wore Pantyhose at the Western Reserve Theatre. Her next production will be Murder in Black and White to be performed at Bullfrog’s in North Ridgeville. She’s thrilled to be working with so many great people and would like to thank her family and friends for their support and understanding. DeLee Cooper (Lucy) is thrilled to be appearing in Jekyll & Hyde. A graduate of Wright State University’s Professional Actor Training Program, she

Some previous Ohio credits include: Heathers and Billy Elliot with Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood, Alice in Wonderland and A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Pointillism Jazz Consort in Akron, and Sweet Charity, The Secret Garden, and Alice in Wonderland with Weathervane Playhouse in Newark. Jeff Haffner (Danvers) (B.A. Ashland University; M.F.A. - University of Georgia) is originally from Parma, Ohio; he is very happy to be a part of Jekyll and Hyde! Recent credits: Nick O’Brien in Shear Madness (Circa ‘21 Dinner Playhouse), and Chester Drawers in Sleeping Beauty (Winnipesaukee Playhouse). He was a company member at the Old Creamery Theatre (Amana, Iowa) for the last 8 seasons, where favorite credits include: Eddie Lawrence in Shear Madness, The Dragon in The Reluctant Dragon, and Kanute Gunderson in the Don’t Hug Me series. Kris Hebble (Bishop/Apothecary) Kris is very thankful being in this production. Some of Kris’ favorite roles include Dave Bukatinsky in The Full Monty (Beck Center
for the Arts), Mr. Bumble in Oliver (Cain Park), Ali Hakim in Oklahoma (Olde Towne Hall Theatre), T a m m a n y O’Halloran in Miracle on 34th Street (TrueNorth Theatre), and Barnaby Tucker in Hello Dolly (Elyria Summer Theatre). Kris is a Franciscan Friar with the Order of St. Francis (www.osffranciscans.com) Jackson Horn (Simon Stride) Jackson is proud to say this has been one of his greatest learning experiences in his musical theatre career. Acting as both assistant director and cast member has opened up his eyes to the diversity of the theatre community. This has been Jackson’s first experience as an assistant director. Some of his favorite acting credits include Count Dracula in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Jeffrey in Stephen Schwartz’s Godspell, and Neleus in Julian Fellowes Mary Poppins. Cast and Crew Bios Steven Huynh (Spider/Ensemble) is delighted to be part of the cast for Jekyll & Hyde. A recent graduate of Amherst Steele High School, he is excited to be branching out into local theaters. Favorite credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour) with the MLS Theatre Company and its multiple 2016 Playhouse Square Dazzle Award nominations (Best Musical, Best Chorus, Best Actor). While he is not attending any university at the moment, he hopes to study Musical Theatre at Baldwin Wallace. From him to you, “Thank you for attending tonight’s performance and taking part of our journey to discover what’s behind….the facade.” Corey Knick (Utterson) was last seen at French Creek in The Glass Menagerie (Tom). M i c h a e l Knobloch is (Jekyll/Hyde) thrilled to be performing on the French Creek Theatre stage for the first time. This is easily the most challenging role he’s tackled and is grateful for Jacqi and Anthony’s trust and direction as well as sharing the stage with such a talented cast. Recent credits include John Wilkes Booth in Assassins (Near West Theatre), Henry in Next to Normal (Brecksville Theatre on the Square), and Boy/Peter in Peter and the Starcatcher (Weathervane Playhouse). Michael attended Case Western Reserve University where he earned a degree in computer science. While there, he performed with the Case Footlighters, a 100% student run theatre troupe, and sang with the All-Male a Cappella group, Speakeasy. When not performing he designs and implements Salesforce solutions as a technical consultant for Acumen Solutions. Angela Mitchell (Emma) Soprano Angela Mitchell has performed with Cleveland Opera Theater, Lorain Community Music Theater, Opera in the Heights, , and the Moores Opera Center. Her recent roles include

She is Assistant Producer for WCLV Classical 104.9 ideastream. K a t e l y n Rotuno (Nellie/ Ensemble) Katelyn is excited to be returning to the stage after a 9 year hiatus. She was last seen in the regional premiere of The Phantom of the Opera at Baldwin-Wallace. By day Katelyn is a board certified music therapist at The Cleveland Music Settlement serving mental health, hospice, and medical populations. Proud alumnae of Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music. Aunt Mutt, this one’s for you! James Saulino (General Glossop/ Minister) James is from Youngstown, Ohio and has lived in Salem, Ohio,
Nashville, TN, and Milwaukee, WI. As a youth, James studied dance with his sister. He took clarinet, saxophone, and guitar lessons. He enjoyed listening to records from musicals that his parents played. James studied at Youngstown State University where he received several degrees in education with minors in English and Social Studies. He taught in several school systems for over ten years and worked as a private event disc jockey. James moved to Lorain in 2012. Jekyll & Hyde at French Creek Theatre is his first venture into theatre.
Production Team D. Justin Bilewicz, III (Costume Designer) Justin is graduate of Ashland University and works as a freelance Costume Designer for the local area. In addition to designing costumes, Justin is the production manager for Sandstone Summer Theatre in Amherst, Ohio, the Drama Director for Clearview High School and the Palace Youth Theatre’s Director in Lorain, Ohio. Enjoy the show. Julie Billinghurst (Stage Manager) Julie is happy to return to French Creek to open the season with such a fine show. Previous stage managing credits include: Big Fish, White Christmas, Godspell, and Next to Normal at TrueNorth. Most recently, she was the SM for LCMT’s production of Into the Woods. Stan Kozak (Sound Designer) Stan Kozak, currently in his twentyseventh season at Great Lakes Theater, has more than 50 design credits including Bat Boy: The Musical, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Comedy of Errors, Amadeus, You Can’t Take It With You, Private Lives, Into the Woods and the Tom Hanks’ benefit
performances. His work in 1979 and 1981 with Geraldine Fitzgerald on Streetsongs at GLTF led to the original cast album. Mr. Kozak was the resident sound designer for four seasons at the Porthouse Theatre Company, including productions of Driving Miss Daisy, Niteclub Confidential and a Nightingale Sang. His collaborations with Victoria Bussert at Baldwin-Wallace College include productions of Chess, Hair, Company, Cabaret, West Side Story, Tommy in Concert, Parade, the Ohio premiere of Stephen Sondheim’s Passion, and one of the first nonprofessional productions of Phantom of the Opera. For Cain Park, his design credits include Secret Garden, Fiddler on the Roof, Grease, Bat Boy, Tick, tick…Boom, Nine, The Wiz, Harold and Maude and Pippin. Mr. Kozak has also designed sound for Wit and Last Five Years for the Dobama Theater, Iolanthe and Sweeney Todd for the Cleveland Opera, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and Forbidden Broadway SVU for the Hanna Theatre and A Shayna Maidel, Brooklyn Boy and Pangs of the Messiah for the JCC. He has served as sound designer for the All-City Musical for the Cleveland
Cast and Crew Bios school system for eight seasons. He also had the good fortune to have worked with Bebe Neuwirth in her concert performance for the Ideastream Gala in 2005. He was honored to be among the first group of LORT sound designers to achieve recognition in USA 829. Riley Kushner (Technical Director) Riley Kushner’s most recent builds include: Bye, Bye Birdie with TrueNorth, Into the Woods at LCCC, and The Realistic Jones’s and Peter and the Star Catcher at Dobama Theater. Riley began her professional theatrical carpentry work ten years ago at Baldwin-Wallace College, where she eventually served as
scene-shop foreman. She has since worked on various local productions at Cain Park and elsewhere, and is thrilled to be building on the French Creek stage once again. Jacqi Loewy (Director) celebrates 4 decades as a busy director/ actor/stage manager/educator. Her direction has been seen at The Cleveland Play House, Dobama, Ensemble, Interplay Jewish Theatre, CASE, JCC Halle, Playhouse Square and Cleveland Public Theatre. As an AEA/SAG/AFTRA actress/stage manager, Jacqi has worked on Broadway, in international touring companies, at several Cleveland venues and in many recognizable

As a playwright and/or producer, her credits include Mr. Lewis Rules: Stories from the Juvenile Justice System, Legally Addicted (opiate addiction epidemic) and Both Sides of the Family (interfaith relationships). Paul Lowry (Projection Designer) has served in artistic, production and design capacities with such companies as Long Wharf Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, New Haven Theater Company, Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, International Festival of Arts and Ideas, Cleveland Public Theatre, Theatre Ninjas, Near West Theatre, Talespinner Children’s Theatre, Ingenuity Festival and Celebrity Cruises. He is the Technical Theatre Director for Hathaway Brown School. Patterson (Lighting Designer) returns to French Creek Theatre having previously designed Happy Days and several productions for the 2011 season. Investigation Discovery’s Homicide Hunter. Anthony Trifiletti (Music Director) is an active solo pianist, collaborative artist, and music director throughout much of Ohio. As a pianist and music director, Anthony has held positions at TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center, The Lorain Palace Theatre, Lorain Palace Youth Theatre, Sandstone Summer Theatre, Amherst Workshop Players, Lorain Community Music Theatre, The Human Race Theatre Company, Dayton Opera, Dayton Philharmonic Youth Strings, and numerous other venues. Anthony is currently serving on the Board of Directors for TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center. He is a recent graduate of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. While at UD, Anthony was the recipient of the Award for Outstanding Collaborative Pianist and performed at the American Choral Director’s Association National Convention in 2013. Besides working in theatrical and other performance related settings, Anthony is an active church musician having served at numerous parishes throughout the state. He is currently the music director at St. Peter in Lorain. Congratulations cast, crew, and orchestra on a wonderful performance!
