off. Sacred Heart Hall is, of course, the main classroom building on campus. Thus, alternative sites must be plotted out for summer courses. Dr. Mary Ann Biller, vice president for academic affairs; Antoinette Schiesler, academic dean; Midge Leahy, dean of continuing education and Currie are at present holding discussions on where to hold classes. They are looking at area high schools for possible sites. They have not closed out the option of holding classes in the campus residences, such as the house living rooms. However, Currie was not too enthusiastic about that option, as it doesn't provide a real classroom setting. "For example. there are no blackboards," Currie said. "We are really looking for classrooms.'' The Master's of Education program will probably use the classrooms in the library, but, again. that is not definite either. One thing is for certain.

Summer classes will not be completely discontinued. Too many students need courses offered in the summer in order to graduate on time, Currie said. However, there may be some modifications to the summer program, and the number of courses offered may be decreased in number, according to Currie. More information on the summer courses should be known by mid-to-late February so that it can be ready for publication. Although classes will continue through the summer, there will be no summer rentals on campus, according to Currie. The gym will definitely not be able to be used except for storage purposes. Currie expects the work to be completed in time for classes in the fall, although, Currie said, ··anything can happen.'' She is plans to negotiate a deal with the company in which the company must pay a penalty charge if the work takes longer than scheduled. The company has explained that it will take two weeks to remove and replace the ceiling of each floor, so Currie is allo'wing seven weeks for this task. In addition to the actual work on the ceilings. time must be alloted for

removal and storage of desks, materials, equipment, etc. Also, time is needed after the work to replace lighting fixtures and to paint. Currie hopes that the building can be re-opened in mid-August. She said it would be permissible, for instance, to be on the first and second floors even while they are still working

on the

third. She

hopes, however, that it will not come

to that in the fall. The gym, cafeteria and Registrar's office do not have an asbestos problem, for their ceilings are unlike those in the rest of the building. Currie has decided that the gym will be used as,arstorage facility for the summer. Currie plans to hire a moving company to transport classroom items from the classrooms to the gym. She is also seeking the assistance of faculty members to aid in the care and specific needs for their department's equipment, such as science

materials

and the computers.
