Figures from NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) show that 65,368 or 92% of people aged over 70 years old have now had both doses of covid-19 vaccine.
Freda France, aged 90, was one of the first people to have their covid vaccinations in Sheffield, she explains what being fully vaccinated means to her: “It’s been amazing to be able to have the vaccine and also to be the ‘First Lady of Shiregreen’. I’ve kept active everyday walking to the local co-op and to my favourite chip shop who have all really looked after me, I now call them all my grandsons.
This news is welcome as lockdown restrictions continue to ease and people spend more time with loved ones.
