Success As I reflect on our just concluded 2015 drama production “Sing De Chrous”, I am estatic about the levels of success we attained in our superb acting, our excellent costumes, our beautiful set design and the sweet music that filled the auditorium. There were numerous positive comments coming from all who were in attendance. It ws a no accident that the show attained heights of excellence. A decision was taken to produce the show, and the director Mrs. Deborah Jean Baptiste-Samuel, had a clear vision of what the actors should look and sound like. She was sure of the type of choregraphy and music to fill the stage. Her vision was clear: “What is your vision of life?” You are the director of this life. Your vision should map out the entire plan of this precious God-given life. Her vision was then transformed into a mission of discipline, training and grooming of Ariya Dyer into Matilda , Renell Hart and Dari-Anne Campbell into Winston, April Daniel into Louise and Destinee-Ann Robinson and Olubusola Chung into actors and actresssess who brought their characters to life. “Get into character ” would ring out time and time again at rehersals. Your mission would entail sacrifice. It would be remiss of me if I did not mention the sacrifice made by all students, especially the Sixth Form students who, during this time, were writing their examinations. Anna Bethel, Olubusola Chung, Renell Hart and April Daniel wrote examinations in the morning and were present at rehersals in the afternoon.Committment and discipline were two important ingredients which contributed to their success. Well done students! You have been good examplers and you have made your school proud. In closing , I would like to suggest that you surround yourselves with successful, positive people, who will influence your thinking. Parents you too have an important role to play. As our play was supported by groups of people, musicians, choir, villagers, stage management, costuming and lighting to name a few, so too must your children be supported . Your input is invaluable in helping them realise their dreams. GOD’S RICHEST BLESSINGS Mrs. Jenifer Gittens Principal
