SCARBOROUGH SECONDARY SCHOOL
PRINCIPAL’S ADDRESS TO THE GRADUATING CLASS 2025
A
s you reflect on the journey ahead of you I wish to extend on behalf of the administration and staff of the Scarborough Secondary School hearty congratulations to all parents and students of the graduating class of 2025 Your theme, “Flight SSS cleared for take off: First class seats to Excellence!” reminds us all of our need to be prepared for life’s journey. Five years may seem like forever but it represents the time you take to check in for a flight and make your way from the terminal building onto that aircraft. The graduation exercise is part of that transition…. Over the years the form teachers have been your flight attendants guiding you and reminding you of the safety precautions and preparations that have to be made in order to make the journey. Over the years their instruction helped to mold you into the young men and women we hope you would become at the end of this preparation stage. Your journey has now started and turbulence is sure to come but with the right preparation you would not only learn how to cope with these events but also better navigate the challenges along the journey. As you pause to reflect and await the journey ahead please
appreciate the lessons learnt; the friends and classmates who made the preparation period more enjoyable: the jokes shared, the assistance in doing assignments, the fun days of sports and dress down, the thrill of extramural activities, the hard lessons learnt through punishments but more so the morals, values and ethics that were inculcated along the way. Are you ready for the journey? Today the Captain will engage the engines and your taxi along the runaway eagerly awaiting the new destinations. As you get ready for the journey let the messages of production, positivity and resilience give you strength and hope. You are ready for the journey. You are now the captain of your destiny. So as you are cleared for take off, buckle up and get ready to attain excellence. You can soar to higher levels because you are Committed to Excellence!” You are always First class in our hearts…. All the best Graduating Class of 2025

Principal (Ag.) Scarborough Secondary School
VICE PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
T
o my lovely graduating class of 2025, Just writing this short message fills me with both sadness and nostalgia especially knowing that our journey began virtually. Meeting all of you online was the start of something special, but getting to know you in person once we returned to face-to-face learning was truly refreshing and rewarding. As you buckle up and prepare for takeoff, please remember this: Excellence is not a destination—it’s a way of flying. You’ve been seated in first class for the past
22
five years, and now, my dear graduates, it’s time to keep flying first class straight to greatness. I love each and every one of you, and I will miss you dearly. Take off. Fly far. Fly high. Fly excellent. With all my heart,
Mrs Patricia Elliot-Peters
