NELSON STREET GIRLS
Principal’s Message Dear Parents, Guardians, Well Wishers and Pupils, As espoused in our school’s motto, “First Things First”, our school is committed to encouraging our pupils to place God First, then educational endeavours before any other goal. Here at Nelson Street Girls’ R.C. School we, the staff and myself try to develop our fine young ladies to be innovative and motivated learners who would undoubtedly become caring citizens who display strong values. We thank you parents for chosing Nelson Street Girls’ R.C. School for your child. We welcome you and we thank you for the opportunity you have given us to educate your daughter. Our hope is that while your child is with us she will develop into a mature, happy responsible young lady who is prepared to face the future with confidence. In this school we view education as the development of the whole child, thus emphasis is placed not only on the intellectual growth of our pupils but also on their physical, social and spiritual health. Nelson Street Girls R.C School was founded in 1899 by the ST Joseph of Clung sisters and has educated many generations of young ladies in Port-ofSpain. It is a school rich in traditions

and talents, handed down through the dedication and vision of our predecessors in Catholic Education who continue to inspire us all today. Each student is a unique individual with special gifts and talents and we know that with motivation, encouragement and hard work we know that each student will discover their individual talents. A t the end of this academic year I would like to thank all the members of staff who of time put in significant amounts of time to help our children grow and learn. We have all taught and learnt from one another, teacher to student and student to teacher I hope on this academic year and the lessons learnt and the joys shared. I recognize and honour you all for your accomplishments over the past year. Thank you.
