GREATER THINGS ARE YET TO COME
Achievement/ Transition Day
2017
Principal’s Congratulatory Message I am highly thrilled to deliver this send-off speech to you the students of Std. V. Today, I realise how time flies even when it is monitored. This celebration in 2017 of the culmination of your primary school education, is painful for me just as it is for you. I also say goodbye not only to you but to Gloster Lodge Moravian School, where I have served as someone who is less of a teacher or principal but more of a mother. Nonetheless, it gives me great pleasure to say that this Transition/Achievement Day ceremony is significant because it allows us to showcase our attainment of goals and the commendation for successes accomplished together. Congratulations! It is my wish that this very special occasion will remain etched fondly in our memory for the rest of our lives. Why? Both you and I will exit this school together. My dear Std. V students, despite some hard tasks, sadness and grief that you have encountered in the course of your studies at this school, at the end of it all, you completed this part of your education journey with great achievements and beautiful memories. Being tough with you at times does not mean that we hate your group. We did all we can to prepare you for a grander challenge ahead, and to nurture you to look forward to secondary education. Under our supervision, you have accomplished this notable milestone in your life with great respect and veracity. As we look back at the journey, the trials may linger on. However, I am honoured to say we are proud of your many achievements over the years, your various accomplishments in almost all curriculum and extra curriculum activities. For most of you, the incredible moments such as participating Zonal Games, representing the Zone in Rotary and National Games, being members of the Gloster Lodge Dance Crew which won the Junior Hip Hop championship, participating in Gloster Lodge Rising Stars, going on field trips to the Pitch Lake and San Fernando Hills, participating in

Ann Alves Principal Communication Workers Union Quiz for Post SEA students, learning French and taking Craft classes and other memoires will survive a lifetime and will forever remain in our hearts. Students, as you leave this school, expect some challenges, but if you use the skills and knowledge we have imparted in you, you will surely overcome them. We know that you will remain true to the values imbibed in the school and we expect that you will be “The Best Always” in everything you do. Lead by example, work hard, play straight and be successful. The staff is proud of you, Class of 2017. We hope you are equally honoured to be joining a community of alumni that is over one hundred and twenty years old. Take encouragement from that long history which shows Gloster Lodge Moravian students have gone on to great success in life. See yourselves as good ambassadors of this school and never allow self-centred benefits to blemish the core values you have developed over the years in this great school. Be kind and sincere to people you meet as you mature. Allow the words of God to guide you as you journey to prominence. Think great thoughts and be positive in whatever you do. I must commend your parents and thank them for the cordial relationship. On behalf of the school, I bid you farewell and wish you every success in your secondary school life and beyond. Enjoy today! Goodbye and God bless!

STUDENTS’ REFLECTIONS Memorable Moments at GLMS
Achievement/ Transition Day
2017
Tayshaun Roach My years at Gloster Lodge Moravian School was extremely memorable. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Gloster Lodge Talent Competition. This gave me an opportunity to display my skills in dance and I developed a greater love for the art form. I will always remember sitting under the tutelage of my enthusiastic teacher, Mr. Hyland.

Nikola Mc Intosh “All things must come to an end” my mother would often say. As I reflect on my seven (7) years at Gloster Lodge Moravian School, I have mixed feelings about leaving this noble institute because I enjoyed all my learning experiences, especially singing at the 2015 Young Voices. My teachers worked diligently and were committed to seeing us achieve our goals therefore I want to salute Mr. Mahabir, Mrs. Inniss, Mr. Romain, Mrs. Mendoza and the best of all Mr. Hyland. Donique George My seven (7) year journey at Gloster Lodge Moravian School was truly a memorable one. I remembered participating in the Gloster Lodge Rising Stars Competition where I got the opportunity to sing before a large audience. This made me extremely excited. I also represented my school at Peppy’s National Spelling Bee in Standard Three and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ll truly miss the good times I had at my school. I would like to thank God, my supportive parents and my teachers: Mr. Romain, Mr. Hyland, Mrs. Mendoza, Mrs. Montoute, Mrs. Laban and Mr. Mahabir. This school will forever be etched in my youthful mind.
