Registration Reminders

Registration fees for all programs must be paid at the time of registration. Registrations are taken on a first‐come, first‐serve basis. Waitlists are formed when programs are filled. Every attempt is made to accommodate those on a waitlist. A $25 fee will be charged for all returned checks. A post‐dated check for payment is not accepted.

Program Refund Policy

Individual programs may have specific refund guidelines. Please refer to specific refund policies stated on any individual program registration form or program handbook. General refund guidelines are as follows: A full refund, less a $5 administrative fee, is provided to any customer who formally requests one at least 3 business days prior to the first class/practice, or by the program/trip advertised deadline. Refund requests made within 3 business days prior to the start of the program receive a prorated refund less the $5 administrative fee. Subject to program supervisor discretion. Refunds requested after the program is completed are not granted. Refunds requested for medical reasons are granted when accompanied by a doctor’s note. The $5 administrative fee is not assessed for refunds due to low enrollment or cancelled programs, rental/party deposits. Refunds are handled on a case‐by‐case basis.

Code of Conduct Participant Guidelines

The following guidelines have been developed to help make Park District programs safe and enjoyable for all participants: Show respect to all participants, spectators and staff. Refrain from using foul language. Refrain from causing bodily harm to other participants, spectators or staff. Show respect for equipment, supplies and facilities. Additional rules may be developed for particular programs and athletic leagues as deemed necessary by staff. Inappropriate conduct may result in removal from premises.

Photographs and videos are periodically taken of people participating in Park District programs and activities. All persons participating in Park District programs/activities or using Park District property thereby agree that any photograph or video taken by the Park District may be used by the Park District for promotional purposes including its promotional videos, brochures, flyers, social media channels and other publications without additional, prior notice or permission and without compensation to the participant.

Finally, our National Night Out event will spotlight community wellness, bringing residents together to celebrate safety, health, and connection. Popular favorites like the Summer Concert Series, along with new events and programs including a K-Pop–themed Dance Party, an Afternoon Concert Series, and a new series of baking programs, will make this summer truly engaging for residents of all ages.

Visitors to Oasis Water Park will also notice exciting updates this season, including improvements to the facade and concession area that enhance both the look and the overall guest experience.

In response to School District 13 ongoing construction, the Park District expanded summer pre- and post-camp programming to ensure families throughout Bloomingdale continue to have reliable, high-quality care options during the school transition. Complete details are in this Summer Program Guide.

We’re especially proud to honor long-time retired Board Commissioner Buzz Puccio by dedicating the Old Town Park pavilion in his name. Join us on Tuesday, June 9, as we celebrate Buzz’s tremendous impact with a ribbon cutting at the newly refreshed pavilion, followed immediately by the opening night of our Summer Concert Series. Buzz’s decades of leadership helped shape the parks and programs we all enjoy today, and this tribute is a heartfelt way to recognize his legacy.

BUZZ PUCCIO PAVILION RIBBON CUTTING & DEDICATION HONORING A LEGACY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE 1973

Moved to Bloomingdale with his wife, Pat Puccio, beginning a lifelong commitment to the community.

1974-1976

Played a key role in forming the Westlake Townhome Citizens Action Party and later served as its Chairman. 1977 Appointed to the Bloomingdale Planning & Zoning Board of Appeals. 1981 Named Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Board of Appeals. 1983 Appointed into office as a Village Trustee to fill a vacancy, marking the start of elected public service.

1985

Elected to a full four-year term as Village Trustee.

1989

Following his run for a second four-year Trustee term, Buzz became actively engaged in community leadership by joining the Septemberfest Commission.

1992

Successfully led the Septemberfest Commission, serving the community in that role for several years. 1995-2001 Elected to full six-year term on BPD Board of Commissioners. 2005-2007 Elected to serve an unexpired term as a Bloomingdale Park District Commissioner. 2007-2024 Continuously elected as a Bloomingdale Park District Commissioner serving for a total of more than 27 years, including time as Board President.

Ribbon Cutting & Pavilion Dedication Honoring Sebastian ”Buzz” Puccio

The Bloomingdale Park District invites the community to attend a ribbon cutting and pavilion dedication honoring retired, long-time Park District Commissioner Buzz Puccio on Tuesday, June 9 at 6:45PM at Old Town Park, just prior to the first concert of the 2026 Summer Concert Series. The band, “Feel Good Party Band,” will perform immediately following the ribbon cutting. The ceremony will recognize Buzz Puccio’s many years of dedicated service and leadership, while officially unveiling the new pavilion signage marking recent improvements to the beautiful Old Town Park’s pavilion. Remarks will be shared by Park District representatives and community leaders, followed by the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Everyone is encouraged to stay and enjoy the season-opening concert, making the evening a celebration of both community legacy and summertime tradition.

BLOOMING NEWS M.O.S.A.I.C.: Where Shared Experiences Build Stronger Communities

The Bloomingdale Park District is proud to introduce M.O.S.A.I.C., a new philosophy that reflects our commitment to awareness and connection to the community. Definition of Mosaic A mosaic is a decorative art form where patterns or images are created by setting small, individual pieces of various sizes, shapes, colors and materials into a surface, typically held in place by plaster, cement, or mortar. These pieces are traditionally made of stone, glass, or ceramic, and are arranged to form a full picture, which is often used to decorate floors, walls, and ceilings due to their great durability and vibrant appearance. The mosaic technique transforms countless varying tiny fragments into a cohesive piece of art. With this thought in mind, we developed the M.O.S.A.I.C. philosophy, vision and mission. The M.O.S.A.I.C. Vision The M.O.S.A.I.C. vision is: Making Opportunities for Shared Awareness, Integration and Connection. The M.O.S.A.I.C. Mission The mission of M.O.S.A.I.C. is to utlize the vision by: 1. Promoting a welcoming environment for all members of our staff and community. 2. Providing opportunities to develop self-awareness. 3. Offering experiences and events that promote curiosity, community, engagement and connections. 4. Fostering continuous team development, collaboration and dialogue.

Summer Round Table Discussion

The Bloomingdale Park District invites residents to participate in a Summer Round Table Discussion, offering an opportunity to engage directly with Park District leadership. This open forum provides a welcoming setting to share feedback, ask questions, and learn more about current projects and initiatives. 10 AM Saturday, May 2, 2026 The Lounge / Oak Room Residents are encouraged to attend and take part in meaningful conversations that help shape the future of parks and recreation in Bloomingdale. Support the Bloomingdale Parks Foundation Fundraiser Storefront

The Bloomingdale Parks Foundation invites the community to support local recreation opportunities through its Fundraiser Storefront. Proceeds from purchases benefit the Foundation’s Scholarship Program, helping ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent individuals and families from participating in Bloomingdale Park District programs. The storefront features three items available for purchase, making it easy to give back while supporting parks, programs, and inclusive community experiences. Every purchase helps create meaningful opportunities that strengthen connection, wellness, and access throughout Bloomingdale.

Oasis Water Park General Information

Everyone entering the facility must pay the admission fee or have a season pass. Children 8 and younger must be accompanied by a responsible individual (paid admission or passholder) 16 years or older for The Oasis entry. Complete The Oasis rules are posted at the facility. All swimmers are expected to abide by the established rules and guidelines.

General Season Pass Information

Renewed 2026 Oasis passes do not require a new picture to be taken if you possess your 2025 pass. A new picture is required if you have not had a new picture taken in the last two years. New 2026 passes require a picture to be taken prior to entering the Oasis. Super Passes require a new picture every year. Refunds for Oasis passes will not be granted after the pool has opened for the season. Proof of residency is required to recieve the resident pass rate.

VIP Pass

A passholder can purchase a VIP pass and it can be used for different people throughout the summer. A passholder must accompany any person using the VIP pass. Only one VIP pass may be purchased per household.

Super Pass

Super passholders may enjoy the amenities and attractions at both The Oasis and Kemmerling Pool in Roselle. The Super Pass is made available to residents through a cooperative agreement between the Bloomingdale Park District and the Roselle Park District. Super Passes must be purchased in person at the JRC Registration Desk. A new picture is required for all Super Passes. Roselle residents must purchase their Super Pass at the Roselle Park District.

Parking

In addition to the Johnston Recreation Center and Oasis parking lot, there is additional parking available on Circle Avenue, Fairfield Drive, Circle South Parking Lot, and Westfield Middle School.

Pool Closing Procedure

At the discretion of the pool manager, the pool may be closed for the following reasons: 1. Air temperature is below 68 degrees 2. Heavy rain 3. Lighting/thunder (minimum of 30 minutes) 4. Mechanical or chemical situation 5. Less than 50 patrons for an hour 6. Attractions will close as attendance decreases

Need Assistance?

The Oasis has two state-of-the-art, remote controlled lifts for patrons needing assistance into and out of the water. If you would like to use the lift, please inform an Oasis staff member-we’re happy to assist! As a reminder, no outside food or beverage is allowed at The Oasis Water Park.

Starfish Swimming Lessons The Bloomingdale Park District is pleased to partner with the Starfish Aquatics Institute to offer a complete swim lesson curriculum. In addition to boosting your child’s self-esteem and providing a great form of fun, this program will teach participants how to be safe in and around the water. Classes are available for infants, children, and tweens and are taught by Starfish certified instructors. Below is a description of each level.

Sessions include eight classes and makeup dates when available that will be used if one of the eight classes is cancelled due to inclement weather. Levels separate children by ability and recommended ages. Children progress at individual rates with the opportunity to learn the core swimming skills in each level. Students will progress to the next level once they complete the swim and safety skill benchmarks for their current level. Students work toward the development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color stage awards for each achievement!

Starfish Swim Lesson Sessions

Upon arrival, please check the lesson locater at the Oasis admission desk. Escort your child(ren) to the deck area designated for his/her level and remain with him/her until his/her name has been called and the instructor has arrived. Once your child is with his/her teacher, parents should proceed to the designated parent viewing area. In ‘Cuda Cove, parents may view from the bleachers; and in Mango Bay, parents may view from the chairs on the north side of the deck. Siblings must always remain with an adult at all times. Thank you for your cooperation.

Starfish Swim School StarBabies

$50R/$60NR per session Activity #480005 | Age: 6 months – 2 years

An introduction to swimming directed towards improving the child’s comfort level in water while training parents in water safety. StarBabies must have a parent or caregiver in the water at all times. Parents will be taught different holding techniques while their child explores the water using basic arm and leg movements. Participants will sing songs and play games to become more familiar with trust and comfort, body position, submersion, air recovery, rollover, forward movement, wearing a lifejacket, and entering/exiting the pool safely. This course does not teach children to become accomplished swimmers or to survive in the water; it does provide a confidence building, fun, and loving experience for babies!

Level 1 – Turtle

$50R/$60NR per session Activity #480007 | Age: 4-5 years This class’s stage is Trust and Submersion. For the child who is afraid of water, cannot swim, or will not get their face wet. Safety Skill Benchmark: Always ask permission before getting in the water. Swim Skill Benchmark: Assisted submersion, relax, for 5 seconds, then come up to breathe.

Level 3 – Dolphin

$50R/$60NR per session Activity #480009 | Age: 7-10 years This class’s stage is Body Rotation and Integrated Movement. For the child who can swim 10 feet while taking an occasional breath and can swim underwater or on the surface with no help. Safety Skill Benchmarks: Tread water for 15-30 seconds and use survival float. Swim School Benchmarks: Jump in, recover to side glide and kick 3m/10ft. Start in a side glide, swim overarm pulls with kick using the 1-2-3 breath pattern.

An introduction to swimming directed towards improving the child’s comfort level in water while learning basic water skills such as blowing bubbles, submerging face, retrieving objects submerged in shallow water, and water safety. Participants will sing songs and play games to become more comfortable in the water while becoming familiar with trust and comfort, body position, submersion, air recovery, rollover, forward movement, wearing a lifejacket, and entering/exiting the pool safely. This course does not teach children to become accomplished swimmers or to survive in the water; it does provide a confidence building, fun, and loving experience for tots!

Level 2 – Otter

$50R/$60NR per session Activity #480008 | Age: 5-7 years This class’s stage is Body Position and Air Recovery and Submersion. For the child who enjoys water, gets his/her face wet, and will jump into the water. Safety Skill Benchmarks: Put on a lifejacket, float on back, kick 6m/20 ft, use flotation device to help someone who is in trouble in the water, and know how to call emergency services. Swim School Benchmarks: Jump in, submerge, recover for air, roll on back for 5 seconds, kick and pull forward on front and back.

Starfish Stroke School

$50R/$60NR per session Activity #480010 | Age: 8+ Stroke School is for students who have passed Level 3 - Dolphin. Students refine freestyle and learn stroke technique for backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and develop endurance. If your child is younger than 8 but can swim underwater, swim freestyle with rotary breathing, and knows how to tread water for 30 seconds, they may register for this level.

Private Lessons

Junior Lifeguard Camp

Ages: 11-14 Program Contact: Blake Min/Max: 5/10 Location: The Oasis In this introductory camp, Junior Lifeguards will learn basic safety skills, practice aquatic rescues, and participate in interactive drills run by The Oasis’s own Head Lifeguards. Participants will learn the importance of water safety, leadership skills, and teamwork. They’ll even have a chance to win some Oasis merch! Crafts, cooking, sports, science experiments, special events, fitness, hikes, field trips and swimming are just some of the ways that will make this summer one you’ll never forget. Campers should bring a lunch, two snacks, swimsuit, sunscreen, water bottle, and towel daily to camp. Campers must wear gym shoes. Downtown Geneva is known as a unique shopping destination with over 100 specialty shops. Many of them are set inside charming Victorian-style homes. The Bloomingdale Park District Museum is Bloomingdale’s oldest building and home to five to seven exhibits and 1,000+ visitors per year. Built in 1849 as the First Baptist Church of Christ, visitors today can view the original 1849 ceiling, knotty pine floor, and some of the original glass pane windows. Bloomingdale Academy took over the property in 1860. In 1892, the building became the center of town serving as both the Township Office and the Town Hall. A jail cell was installed in 1910. The historic building was sold to the Bloomingdale Park District in 1965 for the purchase price of $1. The Park District soon began to offer programming to residents at this location. Fine arts and cultural exhibits began to emerge in the early 80s. A major restoration occurred in 1998 and included an art gallery addition. Additionally, much of the original architecture was restored and refurbished.

The Bloomingdale Park District is excited to provide our youngest residents with a state-of-the-art facility that promotes a safe and positive learning environment. Little Tikes Day Out Camp

Ages: 2.5-3.99 Program Contact: Nicole Min/Max: 6/10 Location: Maple Room The little ones are too young to be at camp all day – drop off your child to Little Tikes Day Out Camp. Children can spend their mornings with our caring and compassionate early childhood staff who will keep their hands busy playing, their feet busy moving, and their minds busy learning. Children are introduced to the school experience through a variety of activities. Children will play in the classrooms, run around in the gym, and have fun outside at the playground. They will have circle and story time, make art projects, color, and paint, manipulate sensory objects, learn routines, and have opportunities to practice cooperating with others their age to learn about sharing, helping, and caring. Intro to Gymnastics

Intro classes are the first levels without parent participation. Focus is on gross motor skills, confidence, and independence. Age-appropriate tumbling skills that are introduced include front/back tuck rolls, front/back straddle rolls, donkey kicks and cartwheels. Children are introduced to basic skills on vault, bars, beam, and floor. Skill circuits are introduced on all equipment. Advanced Level Gymnastics

With the basic skills learned in the intro classes, more difficult skills are introduced in the advanced levels, including handstands to handstand rolls, one-hand cartwheels to round-offs, back bends to back walkovers, front limbers and cartwheels on low beam. Advanced classes focus on technique, strength, flexibility and advancement of skills in tumbling and on gymnastics equipment. Competitive Gymnastics & Tumbling Teams

The Bloomingdale Beamers Teams are in their 46th season, currently competing in the Illinois Park District Gymnastics Conference (IPDGC). Beamers teams include the Tumbling Team, Gymnastics Training Team and Optionals Gymnastics Team. The two Gymnastics teams require a year-round commitment, while the Tumbling Team runs from MidSeptember to Early March. Beamers teams compete in meets against other Park District teams. Please Note: With your child’s best interests in mind, parents are asked not to attend their child’s class unless invited by the instructor. We have found the quality of instruction has often been affected by parent and/or sibling distractions, interruptions and various other concerns. It is of equal importance that children have quality leisure time with their peers. Our instructors welcome the opportunity to discuss concerns with parents before or after class, time permitting. Thank you again for your cooperation.

General Information

Gymnasts must be the appropriate age by the first day of the class. Participants should bring their own water. Participants should wear leotards or other tight-fitting clothing with no zippers, buttons or hoods. Participants should NOT wear jewelry. Gymnastics coaches reserve the right to place gymnasts into the class best-suited to their abilities. If the gymnastics coach feels your child has been placed in the wrong class, he or she will notify you of the necessary change. If your gymnast missed one or more sessions, they must be tested in order to re-enter the same level class. (Beginner 2 & up) Classes that require coach invitation means that the gymnast has fulfilled the skill requirements and has been approved by their instructor to move up to the next level. No shoes, food or drink allowed in the Gymnastics Center. No spectators are allowed in the gym during class. Only staff and gymnasts are permitted in the gym during class time.

Bloomingdale Park District Soccer provides a comprehensive program for Bloomingdale and surrounding communities. Pre-K / Kindergarten teams will practice once per week and Grades 1-8 will practice twice per week (either Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu), and you may indicate your preference while registering. Each team will play at least 7 games, which are primarily on Saturday mornings or early afternoons, but occasionally on weekday evenings. Pre-K through 2nd grade will play games primarily against other Bloomingdale teams, while Grades 3+ will participate against teams from surrounding communities. The 5th-8th grade teams will continue to compete in the MSSL Rec Soccer League with teams from Roselle, Itasca, Glendale Heights, Bensenville, Wood Dale, and more!

Dance I is a 45 minute weekly class designed for preschool and kindergarten aged dancers. In this class we will focus on ballet technique. Dance II Ages 6-8 1st-3rd Grade

Dance II is a 60-minute weekly class designed for early elementary aged dancers. In this class we will continue to learn ballet technique and introduce tap technique as well. MPD Company Summer Auditions & Rehearsals

Auditions for the 2026-2027 Company will be held on Thursday, 6/11 from 6:00-8:00pm. All dancers 8+ are welcome to attend the free auditions. Audtionees will learn choreography and be tested on skills. Company members will rehearse four times in the summer months and learn a summer route that will be performed in the 2026-2027 season. Summer Company Rehearsal tuition only covers the summer months, and company members will be expected to register for the 2026-2027 season during the Fall 2026 session. The Performing Company provides dedicated dancers the opportunity to study Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Jazz more in depth. This performing group is a year-round commitment. Our focus will be creating, leading, and guiding dancers on a disciplined and rewarding path that will instill the fundamentals of dance. Company members are required to take one foundational technique class the entire season in addition to company rehearsal.Rehearsal & Performance Schedule will be available at the first fall class. Auditions for The Little Mermaid Jr. will be held in the CRC Maple Room. Please be prepared to sing, dance, and read from the script. Audition information and materials will be emailed to registered participants one week prior to auditions or sooner if requested. Registration is required for auditions. Martial Arts

Taekwondo, one of the newest Olympic sports, is a 2000-year-old martial art, offering a variety of benefits for people of all ages and physical abilities. Students have the opportunity to improve concentration, self-esteem, achieve lifelong physical fitness, and learn self-defense skills. Classes are taught under the direction of Grand Master Ki Hong Kim (9th Dan Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Headquarters). All students should talk to their instructor on the first day to get sized for a uniform which costs $50 cash or check. Uniforms are required to complete the class and to test for belt rank. Belt testing is offered through KH Kim Taekwondo, at an additional fee. Tests happen at the instructor’s discretion when the student has learned the appropriate skills. All green belt students (ages 7 and up) are required to have complete sparring gear, which is purchased from the instructor.

Join us for our FREE Pickleball Clinic series where our instructor will teach you basic rules, skills, and strategies so that you can begin playing Pickleball recreationally. Pickleball combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong in which players use paddles to hit a plastic ball (similar to a wiffleball) over a net. It is FUN, easy to learn, and a good workout, but not overly strenuous. Technique and strategy are far more important than raw power, and that is why it is one of the leading recreational activities among adults 50+. Bloomingdale boasts outdoor courts at 3 of our parks, and has 3 indoor courts at JRC as well. If you have your own paddle, bring it, but we can loan out paddles at no charge. Bloomingdale Park District Museum

This renovated historic facility, geared for formal gatherings and business meetings adds a touch of class to any party. Two rooms are available at limited times with each room able to accommodate groups of up to 50. A kitchenette with a refrigerator and sink is available. AV equipment is available for a small usage fee. Alcohol is permitted with the proper permit. Additional fees may apply.

Westfield Gymnasium

Westfield Gym is the perfect gymnasium for all your sporting event needs. Interested in renting the gym for basketball or volleyball? If so, then Westfield Gym is the facility for you!

Johnston Recreation Center Party/Meeting Room

The JRC Lounge/Oak Rooms are perfect for groups of up to 50 for a single multi-purpose room, or up to 100 for both multipurpose rooms. Tables and chairs are available. The meeting rooms are also available to rent and can accommodate 6-10 people for a meeting depending on the desired set-up.

Oasis Water Park

The Oasis Water Park is available for summertime rental for private groups Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. All attractions are available for rentals individually (except Pineapple Plunge drop slide), or combined as a package.

Old Town Pavilion

Homola Picnic Shelter

Located on the north side of Circle Park, this shelter is adjacent to the roller hockey rink, basketball court, playground and parking lot. Picnic tables are included, seats 60. The maximum rental guest capacity is 100. Portable toilets are on site and indoor restrooms are available to rent.

Springfield Park Shelter

Johnston Recreation Center Gymnasium
