Here Comes the Fun...

Letter from the Director... Here comes the sun… There is no better place to be in the summer than the Pacific Northwest! Specifically, although potentially biased, I can’t think of a better place to enjoy the summer than Longview. Long days, warm weather, and a beautiful city right in our backyard! As soon as summer hits, our small but mighty team jumps into action and absolutely shines. We create amazing community events hosted in our parks, from concerts and movies at the park to fun runs and festivals.  You do not need to go far or look hard to find something for everyone to experience; the opportunities are endless. When the sun comes out, the Northwest shines as does our Longview Parks and Recreation staff.   You want to have the best summer? Join us! Jennifer Wills, Director of Parks, Recreation & Golf City of Longview Parks and Recreation

Place this recycling guide in a location where you can refer to it in the future!

Plastics No 1 & 2 are still accepted in Longview Curbside recycling bins! Longview is still accepting plastics in curbside recycling bins! You don’t even need to remove the paper labels or crush them, just remove the caps. Longview can only accept plastics 1 & 2, so be sure to check the bottom of your containers for these symbols:

Glass no longer Accepted in curbside recycling bins as of January 2019 We are finding that most of the glass is crushed during the collection and baling process. Broken glass is a huge contamination concern that impacts the other clean recyclables. Please place your glass in your green garbage container OR you can continue to recycle it by bringing your glass to Waste Control directly.
