CANTABILE 2 OG WAVES FESTIVAL

CANTABILE 2 har været egnsteater i Vordingborg Kommune siden 199O. Teatret blev etableret i 1983 af Nullo Facchini, der lige siden har fungeret som leder og instruktør. Cantabile 2 har arbejdet med forskellige teaterformer igennem årene, og i de senere år har Cantabile 2 især udviklet tilgangen human specific, hvor tilskueren er i centrum som aktiv deltager i samspil med performerne. I 2O18 modtog Cantabile 2 teaterprisen Årets Reumert for bedste performance for human specific forestillingen Skjult Nummer, som blev vist på Waves Festival 2O17. Teatret turnerer nationalt og internationalt med sine produktioner. I sin egenskab af egnsteater har Cantabile 2 også etableret en afdeling for børne- og ungeaktiviteter: Sanseværk, som tilbyder undervisningsprogrammer og scenekunstprojekter i samarbejde med kommunens skoler og andre lokale institutioner.

WAVES FESTIVAL Siden 1991 har Cantabile 2 organiseret den internationale scenekunstfestival Waves Festival, der afholdes i Vordingborg hvert andet år i august. Waves Festival samler førende teater-, performance-, nycirkus- og dansekompagnier fra hele verden og gør dermed i en uge Vordingborg til det dynamiske midtpunkt for teaterinteresserede mennesker fra ind- og udland. Waves Festival 2O19 er den 15. festival i rækken, og her medvirker kunstnere fra Europa, Sydamerika, Canada og Sydkorea. Siden 2O15 har Waves Xtra for teaterprofessionelle også været et fast programpunkt på festivalen. CANTABILE 2 has been the regional theatre of the municipality of Vordingborg since 199O. The theatre was established in 1983 by Nullo Facchini who has been its manager and director ever since. Cantabile 2 has explored different types of theatre over the years, focusing in the later years on the human specific approach that puts the audience at the centre as an active participant alongside the performers. In 2O18, Cantabile 2 received the theatre award Reumert of the Year for best performance for the humanspecific performance Hidden Number, which was shown at Waves Festival 2O17. Cantabile 2 has also established a department for children’s and youth activities: Sanseværk, which offers teaching programmes and performing arts projects in collaboration with the municipal schools and other local institutions.

WAVES FESTIVAL Since 1991 Cantabile 2 has been presenting the biennial Waves Festival in August in Vordingborg. Waves Festival is a festival for leading theatre, performance, contemporary circus, and dance companies from all over the world, making Vordingborg the weeklong dynamic centre of attention for theatre interested people from Denmark and abroad. Waves Festival 2O19 is the 15th festival in the series, and this year we present artists from Europe, South America, Canada and South Korea. Since 2O15, Waves Xtra – for theatre professionals – has been a regular part of the festival programme.
