Welcome to Conducting Science – Voice Box! We’ve all got a voice, but do you know how it actually works? Today’s concert includes some frankly fascinating facts, exhilarating on-stage experiments and cracking operatic tunes. We’ll also be using our own voice boxes to sing along with the London Philharmonic Orchestra! So warm up those vocal cords, strike your best diva pose and get ready to enter the laboratory!

Find out about how sound travels, what your voice looks like, and how to make your own musical instruments at today’s Conducting Science Fair, with our friends from Science Made Simple. An introduction to the period instruments of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment as they play music inspired by today’s concert. Suitable for ages 2–5. Pre- and during concert only. Pre-booked ticket holders only (ticketed separately). A fun 20-minute vocal workshop, suitable for the whole family – bring your voice box and get ready to sing!
