Royal Festival Hall and the Théatre des Champs-Elysées in 2013. She has also performed in The Seven Deadly Sins (Opera Victoria, Hamer Hall), The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (West End), Le Bel Indifférent (Greenwich Music Festival, USA), De Materie (Walt Disney Concert Hall) and Im wunderschönen Monat Mai (Australian National Academy of Music). Original music theatre works – commissioned by numerous international arts festivals as well as by Pina Bausch, David Bowie and Mikhail Baryshnikov – include An Audience with Meow Meow, Apocalypse Meow, Feline Intimate, Meow Meow in Concert, Vamp, Beyond Glamour, Meow Meow’s Little Match Girl and Meow Meow’s Little Mermaid.

Meow has written original repertoire with Iain Grandage, Lance Horne, Jherek Bischoff, Washington and Thomas M. Lauderdale, and performs this in concert alongside the Weimar, chanson and contemporary repertoire with the San Francisco Symphony, Pink Martini and the New York Pops, the Oregon Symphony and American Pops orchestras, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and Amanda Palmer and the Dresden Dolls.

Thomas M. Lauderdale & pink martini

Nicholas Crosa (violin)/Phil Baker (upright bass)/special guest Alon Ilsar (drums) Raised on a plant nursery in rural Indiana, Thomas began piano lessons at the age of six. He has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras and ensembles including the Oregon Symphony, Seattle Symphony and Oregon Ballet Theatre. Active in Oregon politics since his student days, Thomas served under Portland Mayor Bud Clark and Oregon governor Neil Goldschmidt, and worked under Portland City Commissioner Gretchen Kafoury on the drafting and passage of the city’s civil rights laws. He founded the ‘little orchestra’ Pink Martini in 1994 to play political fundraisers for progressive causes such as civil rights, the environment and affordable housing. Pink Martini has performed its multilingual repertoire on concert stages and with symphony orchestras worldwide including the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the Boston Pops, the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center, the San Francisco Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony at the Sydney Opera House. Last month Pink Martini played to a sold-out Royal Albert Hall. Later this month Pink Martini releases its ninth studio album, Je dis oui!, featuring vocals from China Forbes, Storm Large, Ari Shapiro, fashion guru Ikram Goldman, Kathleen Saadat and Rufus Wainwright.
