





INTRODUCTION
London Maritime Academy offers a comprehensive 5-day Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) Training course, perfectly aligned with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
This course is designed to provide participants with deep insights and practical skills necessary for the adequate security management of port facilities. Drawing upon the latest International Maritime Organization (IMO) practices, the curriculum is based on the standards of the IMO PFSO Model Course (2015 edition), the Guide to Maritime Security and the ISPS Code.
By combining theoretical lessons, practical exercises, and role-playing, attendees will develop proficiency in maritime security and port facility operations.
OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion, participants will fulfil the ISPS A/17.2 & 18.1, B/18.1/18.2/18.3 training requirements, empowering them to undertake PFSO Trainer duties for port facilities. Key competencies include:
Interpreting SOLAS Chapter XI-2 and ISPS Code requirements for port facilities.
Understanding the certification process for obtaining the Statement of Compliance of a Port Facility.
Identifying maritime security measures and practices in port operations and port/ship interfaces.
Conducting port facility security assessments and planning for compliance.
Understanding responsibilities under the ISPS code for various personnel and authorities.
Planned and conducted ISPS Code-compliant training for port facility security operations.
Utilizing self-assessment questionnaire checklists from IMO MSC Circular 1192 for internal audits and verifying the effectiveness of port facility security plans.
