About us
If you are a student and you work in the private sector alongside your studies, HK Norway is the union for you. As one of LO’s largest unions, we have the negotiating power to secure fair pay, safe working conditions, and good employment terms for our members.
We organize members in many areas of the private sector. Here are just a few examples:
• Office, administration, and publishing
• E-commerce, logistics, and warehousing
• The financial sector, communications, and PR
• Lawyers, solicitors, and legal secretaries
• Grocery and retail sales
If you experience any problems at work, you are backed by a strong supporter who will stand by you with good advice and assistance. We’ll take your case – all the way to court if necessary.

Why is student membership of HK a smart idea?
Here are four good reasons:
Peace of mind at work
A lot can happen at a workplace and young employees can be particularly vulnerable. If you are a member of HK and experience problems at work, you do not have to deal with them alone. HK’s representatives will help you, and if the conflict is of a more serious nature you will be given legal assistance if you need it. If your workplace has a collective agreement with HK, you will have greater rights than are provided by law, such as a better pay system, longer holidays and more holiday pay.

range of activities for all those under the age of 35. We work together to establish a better working life in a professional and social environment, bridging the gap between students and working life, and exerting political influence to reduce inequality in society.

Your membership includes Norway’s best contents insurance. There is no upper insurance limit and the insurance covers, among other things, bicycle theft and damage to your PC, mobile, and tablet.

What you save by joining HK Norway
As a student member of HK, you are backed by a strong supporter. On top of that, it’s also well worth it financially! You pay only NOK 250 per semester. If you pay tax, your membership fee is deductible on your tax return.
You are also able to buy some great insurance policies through LOfavør, and you can receive additional interest on your BSU savings.
