Boba & Adam Tsao

Adam Tsao, a junior, found Boba at a Petsmart in Redlands after looking for cat food. Tsao was attached to Boba when he laid sight and begged his parents for the adoption of the Bicolor kitten. Upon the deal he made with his parents he would have to take care of Boba in his room till the young kitten was ready to explore and interact with other cats. Tsao truly loves his cat Boba and hopes Boba feels the same. Enzo & Matthew Diehl

Matthew Diehl, a freshman, was only four years old when he recived Enzo his Yorkshire

Terrier in 2010 and Enzo was but three months old.

Vivian, Dovy, Donny & William Kim

William Kim, a sophomore has one Yorkshire t\Terrier called Vivian and two Golden doodles named Dovy & Donny. He takes care of his dogs every morning by providing food and water and taking Dovy & Donny out for walks sometimes because the Goldendoodles are pretty big dogs. Vivian was adopted from a petstore and the Goldendoodles were welcomed into William’s family by a breeder.

Lilo & Natalia Drachenburg

Natalia Drachenburg, a senior not only owns one or two, but five whole pets which include three dogs and two cats. Sadie is a Chihuahua weiner dog mix, Lilo which is a Labrador/German shepard mix and Stitch who is also the same as Lilo which would make sense considering that both Lilo and Stitch are siblings.

Drachenburg’s cats are name Casper and Cookie Dough. These lively pets have all been with Drachenburg for atleast a year having the oldest in the family being Sadie which has been there for seven years. Drachenburg likes to take her dogs out for walks whenever she needs a break from her homework in the afternoons and the pets like to come inside in the evenings due to winter chill. But it seems all of Drachenburg’s pets are happy with the home they have. Langga & Faith Albis

Faith Albis, a sophomore has a six month old Cinnamon Pied Cockatiel named Langga. Albis’s cousin had a bunch of Cockatiel birds birds that her cousin breaded. After the baby bird was born, Langga was give to Albis to feed which Albis said was “pretty difficult,” faith said. Langga and Albis have grown closer to each other from these past few months as Langga likes the tweet during Faith’s zoom classes and sing alot when class is in session. Langga and Albis are both happy with how things are as of right now.

Due to the spiking numbers of COVID-19, all in-person vespers have been cancelled. Along with all inperson class vespers being cancelled, all sports team activities are also being postponed until the new year.

Christmas break is from December 21, 2020 to January 1, 2021. Classes will resume on Monday January 4, 2021. Finals will be taking place from January 13-15, 2021. This is the second week back after Christmas break. The end of the 2nd quarter/1st semester is on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Students who took the PSAT test in October received their score on Monday, December 7, 2020. If you have not seen your score and would like to see it, go to the College Board Website at www.collegeboard. org. On Friday, December 4, COVID testing was held at the school from 12:00 to 2:00 in the Heritage Room and 2:30 to 3:30 at the Children’s Center. A second day of testing was held on Sunday, December 6 from 10:00 to 2:00 in the LLA High School Gymnasium, which serviced 300 appointments. All employees got tested on campus as well as many LLA families.

The second semester begins on January 18,2021. Once the second semester begins, students will have two weeks to add, drop, or switch their classes. After the two week cut off, if a student drops a class, it will be marked as “wf” (withdraw fail)

The CDC had forecasted a rise in COVID cases because of group gatherings throughout the thanksgiving break, that has been the case for our elementary campus. According to the elementary’s “Guidelines for Health & Safety” document LLA has done the following: notify the local public health department, isolate case and exclude from school for 10 days from symptom onset or test date, identify contacts and quarantine/exclude contacts for 14 days after the last date the was was present at school, and disinfection and cleaning of classroom. Based on the previous guidelines there have been a total of six classrooms who have been quarantined and are currently remote learning since returning from Thanksgiving break.

Ingredients :

- 1 cake mix (Betty Crocker Cake Mix or any of your choosing) - 1 cup of Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy cream cheese frosting (or any other frosting of your choosing) - 3 bags of white(12oz), green(12oz), and red(12oz) candy melts - red or green sugar Sprinkles

Step By Step :

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 13x9-inch pan with baking spray. In a large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil, eggs, food color, and cocoa with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into the pan.
