LOHN from Estonian meaning scent.

Welcome to LOHN a studio that creates scents designed to evoke a time, a place, a journey.
Inspired by ancient roads along which precious perfume materials were traded, LOHN candles and essential oils are made to take you on a journey.

Founders Katerina Juskey & Victoria Mierzwa share an obsession with scent and its nostalgic powers. Backed by their degrees in chemical engineering and years of experience in the beauty industry, they set out in 2016 to design sophisticated, high-quality candles with scents inspired by ancient journeys.

Since launching in 2018, LOHN has grown to be one of Canada’s top candle brands, with products carried in over 150 retailers across North America and notable media coverage in The Globe and Mail, Elle Canada and Well+Good.

LOHN | Our Products
Every LOHN product is handmade by our small team of makers in a 2,000 square foot studio located just outside of Toronto, Canada. Made in small batches, our Core Collection candles are scented with a blend of essential oils, natural and phthalate-free fragrances. Our Forage Collection candles and diffuser blends are made with 100% essential oils.

Our blend of organic coconut and soy wax allows our candles to burn clean and slow, fill your space with scent, and solidify with a smooth finish. Every candle is made with a cotton wick, hand poured into a printed glass or debossed ceramic, and beautifully packaged with recyclable materials. All of our products are vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free and phthalate-free.

In the ancient world, trade routes developed in part around the pursuit of perfume ingredients and materials like amber, tea and spices.
Taking inspiration from these ancient roads, LOHN creates scents designed to evoke a time, a place, a journey.

AMBER ROAD COLLECTION In ancient times, glowing amber was washed ashore by the Baltic Sea. Gathered by mesmerized beachcombers, it travelled through the Bialowieza Forest, across the Tatra Mountains, and over fields of Lithuanian rue. This collection is inspired by the stops along that historic route, with each candle in the collection featuring base notes of warm, woodsy amber.

TEA ROAD COLLECTION Centuries ago, tea leaves and spices were harvested by hand in Yunnan Province, then carried on horseback across lush valleys and up through the Himalayas to be traded in the markets of Kathmandu. This collection pays homage to the legendary Tea Horse Road, with each candle capturing a different variety of tea.

SPICE ROAD COLLECTION A winding route once travelled on horse and camelback, the Spice Road saw fragrant colourful spices and aromatics travel from Indonesia to Europe by way of India, Africa, and The Middle East. This collection is a tribute to the myriad fragrances from those journeys, with each candle featuring a unique blend of spice notes.

WHOLESALE Opening order minimum is £500. Re-order minimum is £350. Testers are included at no charge in opening order if at least 6 units per scent are ordered. If not, testers may be purchased. Shipping fees are calculated based on weight and shipping address. Orders are delivered 1—2 weeks from receipt of purchase order and payment.
