CCE Awards Maximum Re-accreditation Term to Logan College The Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) has granted Logan College of Chiropractic a seven-year re-accreditation term . Logan president George A. Goodman, D.C. and vice president of academic affairs William L. Ramsey, Ph.D. announced the CCE's decision on June 20 during Logan's 1998 Homecoming and Class Reunions.

nized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education . In 1991, Logan became the first CCEaccredited college to receive a sevenyear re-accreditation. The CCE accredits 17 chiropractic colleges in North America.

"Logan College's success during the re-accreditation review process is a reflection of ongoing effort by members of the college faculty, staff and ag ministration, who have worked diligently to keep Logan in the forefront of chiropractic education," said Dr. Goodman.

A CCE team visited the Logan campus for four days in March to conduct on-site site evaluation and has reviewed a detailed self-study of the college's operations, prepared by Logan employees during the past year.

The CCE evaluation covered Logan's Doctor of Chiropractic degree program. The program's 10-semester curriculum encompasses basic sci-

ences, clinical (diagnostic) sciences, chiropractic adjusting techniques, research and supervised clinical experience in patient care. Logan also offers a Bachelor of Science in human biology degree, which is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The latter agency also accredits Logan College in its entirety.

Dr. Ramsey explains that Logan is accredited by the CCE and the North Central Association in order to ensure its credibility within both the chiropractic profession and the field of higher education.

Leading preparation of the study was a coordinating team that included Dr. Ramsey; Sharon Kehrer, MBA, Vice President of Administrative Affairs; and Educational Coordinators Kelly Brinkman, DC and Robyn Wilkerson, DC.

Phonathon Planned to Meet Two Fund-Raising Challenges Logan College recently accepted its second fund-raising challenge this year, from the Foundation for the Advancement of Chiropractic Education (FACE) of Alpharetta, Ga. If Logan meets the terms of the challenge, FACE president Dr. William Harris has promised to make a $50,000 donation to the college. Logan must raise $50,000 in matching funds, in cash,

by February 2 7, 1999 .

Earlier this year, Logan accepted a fund-raising challenge from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Okla . The Mabee Foundation offered a $45 ,000 donation if Logan raises $600,000 in donations to fund the construction of the college's planned Wellness/Sports Complex. The Mabee challenge deadline also is February 2 7 of next year.

Logan has met requirements of challenges from FACE and the Mabee Foundation in the past, and received grants from both organizations.

"These prestigious national organi-

zations have honored Logan with their belief in the importance of our mission and their interest in supporting the college's advancement," says Logan President Dr. George A. Goodman . "We hope that everyone who is contacted about these fundraising challenges will give serious consideration to helping us secure the needed matching funds."

All Logan graduates will be contacted about the fund-raising challenges during the 1Oth annual Institutional Advancement Phonathon, scheduled to begin this fall.

Donald Mclain, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Logan, will be happy to address any questions related to the challenges or the Wellness/Sports Complex.

The Logan Alumni Association recently offered its support to the fund-raising campaign by pledging $20,000 in donations toward construction of the Wellness/Sports Complex .

Logan Alumni Enjoy Recreational, Professional Activities During 1998 Homecoming; Applaud Accreditation Decision Logan College's 1998 Homecoming and Class Reunions offered alumni of the college myriad opportunities for fun and learning. Homeco ming took place June 18-21 on the Logan campus and at the St. Louis Airport Marriott.

Topping the Homecoming agenda were several traditional activities: the annual student/doctor golf tournament; 13 seminars on clinical and practice management topics; and a dinner dance. Class reunions, poolside socializing and fraternity hospitality suites offered opportunities to catch up with friends old and new. A family fair and picnic and a unique "Back Seat Drivers" contest provided entertainment during the on-campus event on the first evening of Homecoming.

During the weekend, the Logan administration received news that was greeted with great enthusiasm by the Homecoming attendees . William L. Ramsey, PhD, Vice President of

Unique Homecoming Event Offers Thrills To Participants

Attendees at the festive Saturday even ing ga la during Homecoming enjoyed dancing to the music of Bob Coleman's Legacy Big Band.

Doctors at the on-campus Homecoming event on Thursday flocked to participate in a challenging activity, requiring superior communication and listening skills, focused attention, razor-sharp reflexes and strong ki nesthetic sense and coordination.

No, it wasn 't a technique seminar. It was Logan 's first "Back-Seat Drivers" contest, featuring a golf cart furnished by Dr. Rodney Small, 1st vice president of the Alumni Association.

Alumni participating in the event invited spouses, friends or children to join them as their partners. One member of each two-person team served as the navigator, providing instructions to his or her blind-folded partner as the partner drove the golf cart through a course of orange construction cones in the field behind Logan's Administration Center.

Participants were scored on the basis of their success in driving the entire course without knocking over any cones.

The winning team was Dr. Gordon Toftness and 1 0-year-old Jordan Snyder, who proved herself most likely to get an "A:' in drivers' ed.

Dr. Rodney Sma ll demonstrated his skills at following directions from his " backseat driver," wife Leslie.

Awards Recognize Individuals for Outstanding Service to Chiropractic uate of Logan College.

Dr. Cornelius has practiced chiropractic in the St. Louis area for 58 years. At age 84, he plans to practi ce for another decade "and then decide what to do."

A loya l Logan graduate, Dr. Cornelius is a regular attendee at the college's annual Homecoming and Class Reunions and is a long-time donor to the college. He has twice offered $10,000 fund -raising challenges to

Logan College. Other alumni met both of his challenges, and Dr. Cornelius donated the promised funds.

Known for his energy and excellent health, Dr. Cornel ius delighted attendees at the Saturday even ing dinner by literal ly jumping for joy upon receiving his award.

Trova, creator of the famed " Falling Man" series, is considered one of the most important artists on the contemporary art scene. "Abstract Variation," Trova's work donated to Logan by art dea ler Robert Lococo in 199 1, hangs in the Montgomery Health Center lobby.

The Tour de Spine bike team, made up of Logan students, raised $12,000 last yea r for the American Spinal Resea rch Foundation (AS RF) by biking from St. Louis to Orlando, Fla. The riders were Owen Bartruff, Keith Duguid, Mary Beth Larson, Christopher Roeder, Jean Thompson and James Wagner. The team also included manager Terri Leap and support driver Michael Chitaroni.

Dr. Fuhr is Commencement Speaker Logan College celebrated its 126th commencement on August 8 at Cervantes Co nvention Ce nter in St. Louis, with 88 happy graduates, their families and friends participating in the colorful ceremony.

Dr. Arlan Fuhr, a 1961 Logan graduate, gave the commencement address. Dr. Fuhr developed the Activato r Methods adju sting techniqu e with Dr. W.C. Lee. The techniq ue is widely used by chiropractic physicians and is

taught at Logan College.

D r. Fuhr lectu res internat io nally, practices in Phoeni x and has conducted extensive research o n Activator Methods. He discussed recent research that he conducted in Europe during his graduation address. Hea lso shared hi s experi ences w ith mentaring recent c hiropract ic college grad uates and encouraged the Logan grad uates to pu rsue strong relationships with experienced mentors .

Logan Hosts Second Annual Kevin Carter Football Camp For the second consecutive year, Logan College hosted the Kevin Carter Football Camp, led by Kevin Carter of the St. Louis Rams. Boys and girls from 7 to 13 years old and their parents were invited to learn fundamentals of football from Carter, a defensive end for the St. Louis Rams, and his NFL co lleagues.

At the June 27 camp the players taught tackling, positioning, injury prevention, proper stances and other football fundamentals to about 160 young people in attendance. Carter, a two-time All-American from the University of Florida and the Rams' 1995 first-round NFL draft pi ck, places particular emphas is on injury prevention for young players.

Parents w ere invited to partic ipate in a parent-ch ild session in the afternoon in order to learn more about the game.

Cost of attending the camp was $2 5, which covered lun ch, snacks and beverages and a ca mp T-shirt, with proceeds benefiting Queen of Peace Chariti es of St. Louis. Julie Drummond, Logan Admissions Coordin ator and organi zer of the camp, said the camp generated $2,000 for donation to th e charity.

Dr. Wittmer Coaches Son to Success as a Weight-Lifter Dr. Michael Wittmer, Associate Professor of Chiropractic Science in Diversified Technique and former national competitor in weight-lifting, is now coaching his son to su ccess in the sport.

At age 13, Jeff Wittmer is a two-time U .S. Junior Olympic champion (1997 and 1998) and he has broken two American Junior records . At an international weight-1 ifti ng tournament in Canada in Dr. Wittmer May, Jeff snatched 132 pounds and c lea ned and j erked 165 pounds. H e earned a gold medal for his effort, and both lifts were records for the 101-pound weight class . He was the youngest member of the eight-member U .S. team at the event.

"I got Jeff started in lifting two years ago, primari ly for general conditioning," says Dr. Wittmer. "Also, I w anted him to learn proper technique before he got involved in high school sports programs that would invo lve lifting. But he liked it so much that competing seemed to be a good direction for him to go. H e works hard, and he has a lot of talent in th e sport."

A w ell -rounded athl ete, Jeff pl ays soccer and baseball and spends an average of one to two hours a day lifting, under th e watchful eye of his dad.

Dr. Wittmer graduated from Logan in 1980 and competed in w eight-lifting for 15 years, on ce finishing second in a national competition . Now, he is happy to have the opportunity to coach his son and help ensure his safety with chiropractic care. " The coaches at the U .S. Olympic Training Facility in Colorado think Jeff has Olympic potential," says Dr. Wittmer. "He has his sights set on 2004. We' ll do everything we can to help him get there."

Dr. Wittmer anticipates that Jeff's next competition will be the Missouri Men's State Weight-Lifting Championships, to be held on the Logan campus in November.

Student Competes in Miss Missouri USA Pageant Cynthi a Barn ett, a Trimester 3 student at Loga n, had little opportunity for rest and relaxation during the coll ege's August break from classes. Barnett was busy preparing to compete for a scholarship pri ze in the 1999 Miss Mi sso uri USA pageant, held August 28 in St. Vincent, Mo. She w as 3rd runner-up in the pageant and w on the evening gown portion .

Barnett qualified for the pageant by becoming Miss W est St. Louis Cynthia Barnett earlier thi s year. She pl aced 2nd in the 1998 Miss Missouri USA pageant last year.

Barnett, 23, came to Logan as an honors graduate with a B.S. in bi o logy and a min or in chemi stry and dietetics from Southeast Misso uri State University in Cape Girardeau. She grew up on a farm in Sikeston, M o. and w as active in competitive gymnasti cs during most of her elementary and hi gh schoo l years. She also has done extensive vo lunteer w o rk with indivi duals with cerebral pa lsy.

Barnett has co mpeted in pageants in Missou ri since she w as 1 7 years o ld and has held more than 25 local titl es. " I've found many benefits to competing," says Barnett. " In addition to the incentive to remain phys ica lly fi t, I mu st stay abreast on current issues and develop w ell-thought-out opinions on a wide variety of subj ects in preparati on for the interview porti ons of pageants. Also, I have to w ork on communi cation skills, which will benefit me throughout my I ife and career."

Whil e competing as a gymnast, Barnett rece ived chirop racti c care but knew little about the profession. W orking as a chiropracti c assistant whil e obtaining her undergraduate degree, Barnett says she w as intri gued by " the hands-on healing effects of chiropract ic care. I thorough ly enjoyed w atching patients get better when all other health care options had proved ineffective."

At Logan, Barnett serves as educatio nal coordinator for her class. " I am enjoying studying at Logan," she says. " It's very rew arding to share my perspective on health through chiropracti c during pageant competition."

Director of Research and Development, Special Projects Coordinator Named Nelson M a r q u i n a, PhD, DC has accepted an adm i n i strative appointment as Logan's Director of ReDr. Marquina search and Development. In this position, Dr. Marquina will oversee the college's institutional research program, the senior research program and preparation of grant proposals.

Dr. Marquina graduated from Logan College in April of this year and previously received his Ph.D. degree in industrial and systems engi-

neering from the University of Houston . He has worked as an artificial intelligence specialist, conducted research on robotics and has held high-level corporate positions in systems administation. His previous employers have included NASA, General Electric, Coopers & Lybrand LLP and Hon eywe ll Computers.

Dr. Marquina's academic experience has included teaching appointments at the University of Houston, University of Rhode Island, University of Minnesota, Rutgers University and Monmouth College.

Gary Sanders, PhD, has been appointed Special Projects Coordinator at Logan College. Dr. Sanders will oversee 25 administrative areas related to Logan 's curriculum and campus operations. His responsibilities will include directing the Biohazard Safety Committee and the Clinical Laboratories program.

IN THE NEWS Deborah Lawson, DC, PhD, Associate Professor of Basic and Clinical Sciences at Logan, recently completed her Ph.D. degree in health and exercise science at the University of Missouri - Columbia. Dr. Lawson left full-time teaching at Logan in 1994 to work toward the degree, and returned to part-time teaching at Logan in 1997. She currently teaches pathology in th e Basic Science Division and co-teaches the ob-gyn course in the Clinical Science Division.

While pursuing her doctoral degree, Dr. Lawson worked for the Division of Chronic Diseases of the Missouri Department of Health . She recently gave two presentations before the division, based on research that she conducted there. The research was funded by grants from the Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.

The topics of Dr. Lawson's presentations were: "Prostate Cancer Screening Practices Among Missouri Physicians" and "An Assessment of Behavioral Risk Factors Associated with Chronic Disease Among Low-Income, AfricanAmerican Women in St. Louis."

Dr. Lawson also recently facilitated a workshop on exercise for the aging and elderly at a conference of the St. Louis chapter of the University of th e Third Age. The University of the Third Age is a senior citizens' educational and personal development organization that began in Europe and has spread to other continents.

In addition to teaching at Logan, Dr. Lawson now conducts grant-funded research at the Saint Louis University School of Public Health and is an adjunct instructor of educational statistics at the University of Missouri.

Logan Says Farewell to Long-Time Coordinator of Audio-Visual Services The Logan community lost a long-time friend and employee on August 17. Bill Weidler, Media Production Coordinator at the college, lost a long battle with cancer at age 61, succumbing to pneumonia . He had been working at Logan until a short time before his death.

Weidler joined Logan College in 1986 and was well-known to most Logan employees, students and alumni . His duties included maintaining and processing orders for Logan's wide range of audio-visual educational equipment; videotaping anatomy prosections, graduations and other events; and photography of students and employees for a variety of purposes, including identification badges, board exam photos and Logan publications and publicity.

Rosemary Buhr, MALS, Director of Learning Resources at Logan, said that Weidler continued his habit of hard work and responsiveness to AV service and equipment needs during the past year, despite being in pain because of his illness . "Bill was one of a kind, and we will all miss him a great deal," she said .

Weidler is survived by his wife, Jean, and their six children and six grandchildren. His funeral, held August 20 in St. Louis, was attended by many Logan employees .

Logan Featured on TV News Programs College's Care of Homeless Clients of Salvation Army Is Subject of Segment Kay Quinn, medical reporter for top-rated KSDK!Channel 5 in St. Louis, visited Logan College's Health Center at the Salvation Army Harbor Light Center in St. Louis on June 29, interviewing Dr. Joseph Kinsella, director of the clinic, and filming and interviewing interns and patients.

Channel 5 is St. Louis' NBC affiliate. Quinn 's segment, which provided an overview of Logan's 10 years of service to homeless and indigent people at the Harbor Light clinic, aired the same evening at 5 p.m.

On July 23, representatives of the Health Centers again were featured on Channel 5, this time on the 6 a.m. newscast.

Hardcastle is featured regularly in financial segments airing on Channel 5. His work at Delta Investments includes serving as a financial advisor to the Logan Alumni Association .

Later in the newscast, meteorologist Scott Connell opened the weather segment by interviewing Dr. Kelemen and interns about the Health Centers and about the use of the SAM (Spinal Analysis Machine), which the Logan group took to the station .

During the convention, Dr. Bell was elected presidentelect of the ABCA . Her term in that position will last until the year 2000, when her term as president of the ABCA will begin . Dr. Bll also continues to serve as a regional director of the National Association of Medical Minority Educators (NAMME) .

Students Complete Second Long-Distance Bike Ride for Research Thirty-one chiropractic students from five colleges and two doctors of chiropractic biked 1,400 miles during their colleges' August class breaks - and raised money for research in the process. Biking from Springfield, Ill. to Orlando, Fla. in only 15 days, riders participating in the second annuai"Tour de Spine" hoped to contribute $35,000 in sponsorship proceeds to the American Spinal Research Foundation (ASRF) .

The Tour de Spine was initiated last year

by Logan students and expanded to include other colleges this year.

This year's riders represented Logan College; New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, N.Y.; Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Minneapolis; Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa; and Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Ore. Also among the riders were Dr. Thomas Hyde of North Miami, Fla ., president of the Florida Chiropractic Association; and Dr. Owen Bartruff, who received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan on August 8. Also a Logan graduate, Dr. Hyde is a past president of the American Chiropractic Association Council on Sports Injuries and Physical Fitness.

Dr. Bartruff initiated and is one of two organizers of the 1997 and 1998 Tour de Spine rides . Along with five other riders - also Logan College students- he participated in the 1997 Tour de Spine, riding from St. Louis to Orlando and helping to raise $12,000 for ASRF. Co-organizer of the 1997 and 1998 Tour de Spine trips is Terri Leap, also a Logan College student. Leap traveled with the team last year by van, providing support and team management, and will do so this year as well.

Riders for team Logan this year were Keith A. Duguid, Mary Beth Larson, Brandi Lueken, joshua Stevens, jean Thompson and james Wagner (see box on page 21 ).

The student groups from Logan, Northwestern, Pa Imer and Western States colleges left from their respective cities on varying dates, with the riders and drivers of their support vans and trucks meeting in Springfield, Ill. the

afternoon of August 14 for the official start of the Tour de Spine. (The Western States riders and the two doctors flew to St. Louis to ride to Springfield on August 14 with the Logan students.) This main group of riders met the New York Chiropractic College group - which took a separate route down the Eastern seaboard- in Lake City, Fla. The riders arrived at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando for the start of the Florida Chiropractic Association convention on August 28 .

San jose, Cal if.-based ASRF is a nonprofit organization funding research to identify effective treatments to reduce pain and increase mobility for those who suffer from back pain. The ASRF hopes to increase awareness of the fact that back pain affects 80 percent of the population at least once and costs U.S. society $25 billion per year.

Funds raised this year by Tour de Spine riders and donated to ASRF will be earmarked for research on chiropractic methods of addressing back pain or other conditions related to the spine, such as headaches.

Tour de Spine organizers and riders solicited donation pledges in advanceprimarily from companies selling chiropractic products and equipment. Chiro-

practic colleges, their alumni, other individual chiropractic physicians and chiropractic state associations helped cover expenses of the trip with monetary donations or by providing overnight accommodations for the riders. Logan graduate Dr. juan Nunez of Henderson, Ky. hosted the riders overnighnt in home, along with other area doctors.

Each chiropractic college's team of riders was to raise a minimum of $5,000 in sponsorship proceeds. The two doctors constituted a riders' team of their own.

Along the way, the riders and their support team participated in events hosted by chiropractic state associations and met state and local government leaders and local chiropractors in numerous towns and cities . A highlight of the trip was an event in Springfield, Ill. on August 14, sponsored by the Illinois Chiropractic Society to celebrate the meeting of the riders from four of the colleges in Springfield and the official start of the trip .

National sponsors that supported the 1998 Tour de Spine include BioFreeze, Chattanooga Table, Chiropractic Economics magazine, Gulf Atlantic, National Chiropractic Mutual Insurance Company and Shaklee Nutritional Products.

1998 Tour de Spine Chiropractic Student Riders: Team logan • Keith A. Duguid, 27 . A native of Orangeville, Ontario, Duguid completed his second Tour de Spine ride this year. He was a competitor in track and cross country while enrolled at Arkansas State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree from ASU in 1994. He has competed in biathlons and triathlons since 1987, and competed in the 1997 Chicago Marathon. His goal is to compete in the Hawaiian lronman .

• james Wagner, 26. A native of Ravenna, Ohio, Wagner completed his second Tour de Spine ride this year. He was a member of the Kent State University ski team in 1993 and has seven years of experience in Competition Riders of America Motocross Racing. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology from Logan College of Chiropractic . His future plans include practicing in Northeast Ohio and returning to competitive motocross racing.

• Mary Beth Larson, 24. Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 1993 and 1994 at New Mexico Military Institute, Larson competed on the Air Pistol Team at Marquette University, placing 2nd in the 1996 NCAA Division II Team Competition. She has competed throughout the world in the sport and also competes in triathlons, including placing first in the 1998 lronhorse Triathlon, and the 1998 Gulf CoastTriathlon. She has also qualified for the 1998 worldwide lronman competition, training for which allowed her to participate only in the last week of the Tour de Spine. Larson also rode in last year's Tour de Spine.

• Brandi Lueken, 25 . Lueken rode with the Tour de Spine for the first time this year. As an undergraduate at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, she competed in the 200-meter and 400-meter sprint for the track team . She received her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1996. Sponsored by Polar Heart-Rate Monitors and Quintana Roo for the year 1999, Lueken will compete in numerous triathlons this year, including the 1998 worldwide lronman and the Chicago LaSalle Banks Marathon .

Lueken has undergone seven heart surgeries, with the last surgery involving implantation of a permanent atrial pacemaker. Wearing a heart rate monitor, she follows a work-out regimen including biking an average of 60 miles a day, running 35 miles a week and swimming regularly.

• jean Thompson, 24. A native of Pennsylvania, Thompson also was a second-year Tour de Spine rider.

She competed in varsity crew and softball at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1995. She also has competed in triathlons and in mountain bike racing. She placed 2nd in the 20-24 age group in her first triathlon . Her future goals include pursuing professional mountain bike racing and becoming a team chiropractor for a professional cycling organization.

• joshua Stevens, 23 . Stevens completed his first Tour de Spine ride this year. A native of Michigan, he grew up in Durham, N.C. and graduated from Appalachia State University. He was a member of the 1993 NCAA Division 1 Men's cross-country team while attending ASU. After a knee injury, he took up cycling in 1995. He co-founded and later competed against ASU's NCAA cycling team as a Category A rider.

Logan Students Volunteer Services at Wedding on Chain of Rocks Bridge Not many weddings require dozens of volunteers to direct traffic, answer questions and help guide attendees from one area to another.

When Trailnet Inc. of St. Louis decided to publicize its restoration of the old Chain of Rocks Bridge by arranging to have a couple married on the bridge with the wedding open to the public, however, the organization needed volunteers to help .

About 55 Logan students, under the leadership of Logan students Curt Sunderlage and Mike Thompson, responded by offering their services for the wedding of Cynthia Rockwood

and Rich Spickler.

The Chain of Rocks Bridge is part of old Route 66 connecting North St. Louis County with southern Illinois.

The bridge will provide a key link between greenways and the 300 miles of trails now being developed on both sides of the Mississippi River and will be promoted as a tourist attraction. Final construction and permanent opening of the bridge wi II take place in Spring 1999.

The Logan students braved extreme heat and humidity, with the heat index for the day at 105 degrees Fahrenheit, to help at the wedding.

The heat held attendance down to about 1,000 people, rather than the 5,000 expected visitors. The event included a parade of 66 classic Corvettes from the bridge to the wedding reception in Pacific, Mo . Some Logan students also helped with parking at the reception .

"Trailnet was very complimentary of the professionalism and courtesy of the Logan students," says Sunderlage.

"We expect to have more opportunities in the future to volunteer at Chain of Rocks Bridge events. Mike and I hope a lot of students will continue to be interested in helping Trail net."

Logan Students "Blast It Out of Busch" As baseball fans throughout the nation followed St. Louis Cardinal Mark McGwire's journey to a home run record this summer, 25 Logan students had a chance to try their skills at hitting baseballs out of Busch Stadium, home of the Cardinals. No records were broken, but the students enjoyed celebrating the spirit of America's favorite pastime at "B last It Out of Busch," a fund-raiser for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) Resources, Inc. of St. Louis (see cover of this magazine) .

Organizations purchase time on the baseball field in one-hour blocks during "B last It Out of Busch" and send representatives to attempt to hit baseballs out of the stadium . For the third consecutive year, Logan sponsored an hour of time at the event. Each participating student received 10 swings .
