January 24 - 30, 2011 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS PRESENTATION IS FEBRUARY 25 In order to begin a new tradition and honor the selected scholarship recipients, the formerly-scheduled June Scholarship Award Ceremony and Luncheon will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011, the day before the Bachelor of Science commencement. Classes will be dismissed between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The Scholarship Awards Ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Purser Center lobby. ALL students, faculty and staff are invited. At 11:30 a.m., a buffet lunch will be served in the Purser Center lobby for the scholarship recipients and their guests, faculty and staff. All other students will have a free pizza and Ted Drewes® lunch in the Logan cafeteria. (Note: Scholarship recipients taking the NBS Review will be excused during the one late morning session.) OTHER NEWS FROM IN AND AROUND THE LOGAN CAMPUS Logan faculty member and District 1 MSCA President Dr. Patrick Montgomery reports that District 1 of the Missouri State Chiropractors Association (MSCA) will hold its monthly meeting on Jan 24 in room 156 B on the Logan campus at 7:30 p.m. All members of the Logan Chapter of the Student MSCA and any student interested in practicing in Missouri upon graduation are invited attend. Dr. Todd Frisch, current president of the ACA Council on Acupuncture, will be the speaker. He will be conduct a follow-up discussion on his presentation at the last MSCA Seminar on Homotoxicity with a question-and-answer period at the end. A light dinner will be served. The meeting will conclude by 9 p.m. The Clinic Health Center Lab is currently in need of two students to work as Montgomery Health Center lab techs for the Spring 2011 trimester and beyond. The job pays $9 per hour. Students must be Federal Work Study eligible to apply. (Please see the Financial Aid Office to determine your eligibility.) The duties involved include: blood draws, urine tests, and EKGs. Prior medical tech experience is also preferred for these positions. Yoga instructor Ellen Fercho will lead the class through a 75-minute workout designed for ALL levels. Ellen will demonstrate yoga for beginners and intermediates and poses to challenge those who are ready to take it to the next level.
