A more recent addition to the Logan Basic College curriculum is the Office Assistants' or Chiropractic Nurses' Course. The Course grew out of the demand for young women especially trained to assist in the highly technical work in a Basic Technician's Office. Office Assistant trainees attend Logan College for one scholastic year. They are awarded a certificate of training upon their graduation, which is conducted in conjunction with the concurrent year's senior graduation. Tuition for the nine months is $315.00. Fees charged are as follows: Matriculation $5.00, Chemistry Laboratory $5.00, Activity $5.00, X-ray $15.00 and Diploma $2.50.

Logan Basic Technique is derived from the simple premise that the human body cannot be normal and therefore healthy if the bony frame is distorted. The science of Chiropractic has demonstrated through many years that subluxated vertebrae can cause suffering and disease. Most ailments in any part of the body can be traced to the pinching of nerves as they leave the spinal column, and the skillful replacement of spinal segments by com petent chiropractors has brought great relief to millions of sufferers. The Logan method however goes one step further and has proved through thousands of X-ray pictures that most spinal subluxations are caused by spinal curvature and that this curvature must be corrected if the interference to nerve function through spinal pressure is to be consistently and permanently eliminated.

Tuition is $500 for the first 9 months, $35.00 p er month for each additional month thereafter. The required subjects are Basic Chiropractic Philosophy and Principles, X-ray Analysis and Interpretation , Adjusting Technique and Methods, and Office Procedure. Recommended electives are Anatomy, Diagnosis and Pathology, the student being allowed to choose e lectives which will best fulfill his requirements.
The Logan Basic College conducts a postgraduate course, the requirements for entrance being that the applicant shall have completed his regular course of study at another Chiropractic college and received his degree. The purpose of the postgraduate course is two-fold, first to secure the special courses in technique as taught at the Logan Basic College; second to secure sufficient length of training to meet licensure requirements in the various states.

The enrolling student is allowed credit on all subjects taught at the Logan Basic College of Chiropractic upon receipt of transcript of credits from any recognized educational institution. A transcript of credit is given to each student upon graduation.

Matriculation dates are the first school day of the first week of September and March. Enrollment should be arranged 30 days previous to these dates.
Regular college classes are confined to the hours from 7:45 a. m. to 1:45 p. m., five days per week. A total of 3600 60-minute hours of instruction is required. 750 hours of interneship in the College clinic are confined to afternoons or evenings during the junior and senior years, making a total credit of 4350 hours.
Tuition for the four year course is $1260 and is payable in advance at the rate of $105 per trimester (three months period). There is a $5.00 per year chemistry fee, a $5.00 per year student activity fee, $15.00 per year X-ray fee, and $5.00 diploma fee. If a student does not complete the course in the required minimum time of 36 months, additional time required to complete the course is charged at the regular rate of $35.00 per month or $17.50 per half month.
In accordance with the educational philosophy of the late Dr. Hugh B. Logan, the total number of hours of instruction a re more than is required for graduation from most colleges. The program provides adequate time for a thorough academic background as well as practical experience in the clinic.

A Postgraduate certificate is awarded upon satisfactory completion of the postgraduate course. A certificate of proficiency in Roentgenology is awarded upon graduation and the satisfactory completion of this course.
The graduate must be twenty-one years of age, of good moral character, with thirty-six months elapsed time of training except where acceptable credits are earned elsewhere from approved educational institutions. He must have a passing grade of seventy in examinations, and must be present when degree is conferred a t regular graduating exercises of his class. All financial obligations to the college must have been discharged.
Limiting each summer and winter vacation to two weeks enables the s tudent to complete his four years training in three years elapsed time . . . two weeks are given during each Christmas season, a nd another two weeks are given the latter part of August. This varies somewhat in the Junior and Senior years for the upper classmen, as they are engaged in serving their clinic interneship.
The degree Doctor of Chiropractic is conferred upon satisfactory completion of the four-year course of training. A special honorary award is given for extraordinary scholastic accomplishment. A certificate of Office Assistant Training is awarded to those who complete the nine month course of training.

which accommodates some sixty trailers, with electric, water and shower-house facilities, plus a 27-family housing unit. However, because of the general housing problem at present, trailer and housing facilities are filled and there is no space available. Limited dormitory space is available for unmarried students, but applications should be made early. Confirmation of reservation of dormitory space must be received from the college prior to arrival. In the event you are accepted in one of the dormitories, the college furnishes linens and bedding. Draperies, bed spreads, towels, etc., are furnished by the student. The college has cafeteria accommodations for a large number of students, and many who live off-campus arrange to take meals in the cafeteria. Aid is given by the college housing director whenever possible in locating off-campus quarters. If you desire such assistance, write at least one month previous to your enrollment stating what type of accommodations you require.

Every student enrolled at Logan College is required to have Basic adjustments regularly. Each student is X-rayed at stated intervals to observe the progress of his own spine under Chiropractic care. BEFORE me on my desk lies a watch. It is a small watch and bears the name of a maker noted for his attention to detail, for his interest in the beautiful, and for his craftsmanship in the painstaking placement of each part. Each wheel, each screw, each spring, a s in all watches, has some definite function, but each of these is a tiny marvel of precision. The case is a rare thing, and its design could only emanate from the mind of one who loves his work.

Before me in front of my desk stands another intricate product of fine workmanship, a young man. His Creator is the Master Craftsman, one to whom time and effort mattered not, but only perfection of detail.
