Welcome to Delaware, the BEST KEPT SECRET in coastal living. We’re a small state, but we’ve got a lot going for us, and it doesn’t take long to see why people fall in love with it. From our deep history as the First State, and coastal towns that were a part of the earliest colonies in the US, our roots are hard to ignore.

Delaware offers a brilliant balance of beach life, small town charm, and easy access to major metro areas when you want them. You can start your morning near the water, spend the afternoon in a historic downtown, and still be home in time to enjoy a quiet evening. Life here feels more

People love how friendly Delaware feels, and you notice it pretty fast. Community matters here. Neighbors wave, people stop to chat, and it’s the kind of place where you can settle in and feel con nected without it taking forever.

Delaware also makes a lot of sense financially with no sales tax, low property taxes, and a cost of liv ing that often feels more comfortable than nearby states. For families, retirees, and people relocating, that combination is a huge win.

You’ll also feel confident with strong healthcare options and solid schools, plus plenty to enjoy year round like beaches, parks, trails, festivals, and local events. Every town has its own vibe, so it’s easy to find a community that fits you.

This guide from the Loft Team powered by Myers Realty LLC is here to help you picture life in Del aware and find a place that truly feels like home. Welcome to Delaware, we’re excited to help you explore.

BEST RESTAURANTS

TOP FOOD SPOTS WE RECOMMEND

These are our go to places in Kent County. Spots we genuinely love, places we bring friends and family, and restaurants we recommend when someone asks where to eat. Everything is listed in a random order, so start with whatever sounds best to you.

Restaurant 55

Restaurant 55 is a simple version of American gourmet, specializing in juicy, decadent, perfectly cooked burgers. Their menu can feature up to 50 burgers at a time, with a greatest hits menu, and constant specials. Great salads, poultry sammies, and seafood. They have it all. Old school, family owned, local ingredients. In a world where burger joints are falling to the wayside, only the best remain.

Recommended by: Zach Foust

Cool Springs Fish Bar & Restaurant

Cool Springs Fish Bar & Restaurant is a great choice when you are craving seafood and want a place that keeps things simple and tasty. It is casual, welcoming, and perfect for both dine in and takeout. The menu gives you plenty of options, so it works whether you want a lighter plate or something hearty. If you want a reliable seafood stop that feels local and easy, this one belongs on the list.

Oishii Sushi & Hibachi

Photo Credit: Oishii Sushi & Hibachi

Oishii Sushi & Hibachi is a strong go to when you want something fresh, flavorful, and a little more fun. Both the hibachi and sushi options are top notch, and they have an adventurous little drink menu too.

Recommended by: Karla Montes

Roma Italian Restaurant

Roma is a step into a different world with its bold traditional Italian menu. The restaurant has a bunch of Italian art, murals, and the classic table cloth fine dining experience of the Italian restaurants of the 80s and 90s. It’s a long time staple of the state and you will never leave hungry.

Recommended by: Austin Gardner

Fondue

Fondue is the kind of place you choose when you want the meal to feel like an experience. They have a traditional menu but the full course menu is where it’s at. It is perfect for date nights or celebrations with a longer seating and a high end cocktail and wine list. The vibe is somehow intimate and buzzing, due to the bistro size, but a cozy and dim decor and lighting. 10 out of 10 for me.
