What happens in Volume 1:

This is the Flieder family. Lotti, her parents and her sister have just moved to Wetterstein, because they have inherited Grandma Luna's big and beautiful house. When Lotti moves into her new room, she finds a thick book on the shelf - the Book of Magical Ponies.

And just as she is about to open it, a dainty littlebracelet with four precious stones on it falls out. Shortly thereafter, an unknown pony appears at the horse farm to which Lotti’s older sister Paula has dragged her.

It won't let anyone touch it - except Lotti. And then the pony starts talking to her! The pony is called Whirl Wind. It comes from a magical land, the Land of Light Blue. And this land is in great danger.

Now, Lotti is magically connected to Whirl Wind and her three siblings through the bracelet. And only she can them help now...

What happens in Volume 2: The four cloud ponies are stranded in the human world after escaping from the Land of Light Blue. Now Lotti absolutely has to hide them! With a spell, the ponies become tiny and can easily be placed in Lotti's room.

Only Whirl Wind returns to the horse farm - but then the farm is suddenly to be sold!

Lotti negotiates a deal with the owner of the riding stable: If she wins the Tannenwald Race with Whirl Wind, she can stay.

In the meantime, the ponies have lost a lot of strength due to the shrinkage – they urgently need a magic herb. But it only grows in their homeland and the new king, the dark magician Griseo, won’t let anyone into the country…

Only on the Night of the Red Moon is it possible to open the gate of the Wind. Together with the sun pony Golden Glow, Lotti sets out that night to get the plant. But Griseo has been expecting them and wants to capture Golden Glow. At the last moment, Lotti can escape on Golden Glow's back. Now she is well prepared for the Tannenwald Race to save Whirl Wind from being sold.
