LODDON cattle producers are increasingly looking beyond the traditional Bendigo market sales for better prices. Veterans have already seen the once busy Tuesdays reduced to a fortnightly offering at Monday’s sheep sales as cattle numbers tumble.

LOCAL students returned to the classroom on Tuesday after the sudden lifting of Lockdown 6.0 for regional Victoria. And Loddon shops, abruptly forced to close when stay-athome bans were enacted. have again opened their doors. The lifting of lockdown Monday night has also allowed hotels and cafe owners, who had reverted to offering take-aways, to bring back dine-in service. Daniel Andrews’ decision to take country communities out of the strict lockdown after four days. East Loddon P12 College principal Steven Leed said it was great to have students back learning at school. Murray Plains MP Peter Walsh called on the Government for business support packages “without restrictive criteria that excludes any level of business”. With six lockdowns since March 2020, Mr Walsh said the goodwill of business to restrictions had gone.
