‘Special dude’ Sebastian at home in the nursery SEBASTIAN Rothacker is right at home in the nursery ... mum Bianca’s Bridgewater Nursery. “We’re just so blessed to have him - a smiley, happy, special dude,” says Bianca who will spend her first Mother’s Day this Sunday, surrounded by the special people in her life. “I am just looking forward to spending the day with Sebastian, husband Brent and family. And perhaps breakfast in bed.” It’s been a big few weeks for Bianca and Brent. They were married two weeks ago. Sebastian, now almost 11 months, is often at the nursery, enchanting customers with his happy face. “He means the world to us,” Bianca said. LH PHOTO

IT’S JAB TIME

MORE than half the Loddon’s 7500 residents are now able to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The rollout of AstraZeneca to people aged over 50 started this week. The regional response is being co-ordinated by Bendigo Health with a regional hub in Bendigo. Local GPs are also

involved in the vaccination of Loddon residents. Marong Medical Practice Inglewood director Jayant Banerji said vaccinations were available from the Marong clinic at three sessions - two during the week and one on Saturdays for local residents. Inglewood did not have the

infrastructure to store doses. He said local patients had longstanding relationships with their doctors and after discussion, local patients appeared less hesitatant about receiving the vaccine than in some other areas. Inglewood clinic has been taking appointments from people eligible in Stage 2A of the vaccine rollout.

Boort District Health clinical services director Donna Doyle said only AstraZeneca would be available in the town as neither the hospital or medical centre had facilities to store the Pfizer vaccine. Donna said there was no issue with supply of AstraZeneca with new stock now arriving regularly. “All people must do is make an

appointment, and if not already a patient, register,” she said. Bendigo Health has been coordinating vaccination of residents and staff at Boort District Health following a similar rollout in February at Inglewood. Bendigo Health, when asked if it planned vacination team visits to Loddon communities, said people could register and attend the Bendigo hub.
