Healthcare in Jersey

Page 1

Healthcare in Jersey ‘On a personal level, I have transformed my level of fitness. I live a relaxed, rural lifestyle and I now jog or cycle to work, along a route that runs next to the sea. It’s a great way to start and end a working day! We think that Jersey is a wonderful place to live, work and play.’

Jersey offers high quality private and public healthcare, however Jersey isn’t part of the NHS so we have different rules to the UK and other countries. Treatment in the Emergency Department of the Hospital is free, but when you first move to Jersey you will have to pay for most healthcare provisions. What you have to pay for: • Visits to the doctor or GP • Non-emergency treatment at the hospital (unless you are ordinarily resident and Licensed)

• Other care, treatment and related costs including travel costs

We hope the following information and contacts will be useful as you start to navigate your way around our beautiful Island. The information and contacts are by no means exhaustive, so please feel free to call if you have any further questions. Locate Jersey +44 (0)1534 440604 locatejersey@gov.je
