Dar is an artist, a writer, an educator and a national speaker who lives among many beautiful trees in New Hope, PA.

Dar (Hosta) has been using tree motifs in her art for many years, responding to the deep emotional connection that humans have to them and the power they have to symbolize what is most dear to us: family, love, knowledge, life.

If We Were To Plant A Tree is her eighth picture book for children and was inspired by her 2008 award winning title, If I Were A Tree.
