With three kids in elementary and middle school, an active dog and an overwhelming, ongoing DIY-kitchen remodel that’s spilling into every room of our house, it’s really hard to turn off my brain right now. In my moments of “me” time, I like to find activities that silence that constant scrolling to-do list that’s always on my mind. Knitting, reading and running usually do the trick by calming my brain into a flow state. But recently, I found a new activity to add to the list: calligraphy.
I had the opportunity to try calligraphy at a Sip & Script class offered last
summer by Allison Hague at Buck Hill, and even though my normal handwriting
is nothing worth framing, I found the process of making calligraphy to be incredibly relaxing, and it was just engaging enough to turn off all the background noise in my brain. I thought Sip & Script
