Each year, our August/September issue highlights a few outstanding high
school seniors, and I am unfailingly impressed with their accomplishments.
As a panel reviewed the applications for this year’s group, I was not only inspired by their intelligence, community engagement and athletic talent, I noticed that one characteristic kept coming up for each student: kindness. These are young people who shine bright not only because they are smart and talented, but also because they are known for being caring.
As a community, I think we can all be proud to be producing future leaders
who are kind, as well as accomplished.
And I know they are not alone. We asked local school administrators to nominate the students for this feature, and it was incredibly hard to narrow down the field. I hope you enjoy getting to know these students as much as I did. As I gear up my kids for another school year, I’m inspired for my own fall refresh. I always pick up a few fresh pens and notebooks when we’re out school supply shopping,
