BOOK YOUR WINTER HEALTH CHECK WITH COMBI DOCTOR TODAY!
One of our engineers will visit you at your home and work through a series of safety checks, including a boiler service – this will help to avoid potential disasters and disruption during the Winter period when our boilers are working at their full capacity.
As part of the Winter health check, our special offer costs just £120 inclusive of VAT, it should take around 1 ½ hours and includes:
✔ Gas Boiler Service
✔ Check the location of your main cold water stop tap and ensure that your water can be fully turned off in an emergency.
✔ Check the pressure in your central heating system (if a pressurized system) and ensure you are familiar with the process of increasing the pressure if necessary (ideally to between 1 and 1.5 Bar).
✔ Check that all radiators heat up evenly when the heating is switched on, if they are cold at the top they may need venting (the system pressure will then need to be topped up as detailed above) or if hot at the top only you may be suffering from circulation issues which may need further attention.
✔ Identify and locate the condensate discharge pipe from your boiler and be aware that if it freezes your boiler will stop working. If safe to do so insulate it if possible or be prepared to defrost it (using a kettle of hot water) if necessary.
✔ Check that the water supply to your outside taps, or any other external plumbing installations have been isolated from within the property and any residual water drained from them.
✔ Check that no overflow pipes are running/dripping (with the exception of the condensate discharge pipe from your boiler) as if these freeze water could back up and overflow within your property.
✔ If you have an older gas appliance with a pilot light, be aware how to re-light it if it blows out but don’t forget that such an appliance will be much more expensive to run than its modern equivalent.
✔ Finally, if you’re lucky enough to jet off somewhere much warmer for more than a few days, don’t forget that your insurance company may stipulate that your water should be turned off and water tanks, cisterns and such like be drained down and/or heating left on. If this is not done and a burst occurs then they may decline any subsequent claim, so read their small print and be sure you remain covered. We are able to provide heating controls which can be operated from wherever you are in the world.

The Club is run on a “not for profit” basis. The club holds a Monday Club on the first Monday of the Month, 1pm until 5pm.
