Local Dance Team SMASH World Championships!

After months of hard work, preparation and training the team and their families flew out to Florida on April 28th to start the trip of a lifetime.

Heading first for the famous Top Gun Training facility and then to another local dance studio in Orlando, all paid for via fundraising from supporters and local businesses like Anastasia Days, S&L Garage Ltd, Cheeky Monkeys Play Group, A.I.L, FAR Logistics, Pristine Cleaners, Try Fitness, Commhoist and ACE Customs.

Then, on May 6th they headed to the Allstar World championships to compete for the first time in the Semi-finals. Insight to how big the event is they have 20,043 competitors and 1,456 Teams from 11 different countries.

The team blew all expectations out of the water when the results came in they were advancing through to the finals the next day, and they were sitting in 1st place!

The pressure was on as they attended the final day with all the other teams performing before them with near perfect routines, but the girls carried out a 2nd fantastic performance - getting the Gemstone Cheer & Dance Topaz crowned 2023 Allstar World Champions in the Youth Pom Dance division!

It was a whirlwind of a journey, but the sportsmanship and support shown between the dancers and their parents was unbelievable. We hope you can join us in congratulating the team and giving them the recognition they truly deserve Congratulations to the girls of the Gemstone Cheer & Dance Topaz team!
