There was quite a bit of excitement at the July meeting as we welcomed two stunning special guests, our speaker Claire Henry brought along two of her huskies, Claire has a number of huskies, most of which are rescue dogs. Claire and her husband race the huskies pulling sledges, as most of us aware, huskies are sled dogs and love to be running, these two were certainly live-wires and wanted to get up and make their presence felt, although they are working dogs they also loved the fuss and attention and were very happy to receive ear tickles.
Our speaker in August is from Greater Manchester Police talking about how to guard against fraud. Lowton WI meet on the first Thursday of the month at 7.15pm in Lowton Social Club on Newton Road. New headline sponsor announced for Leigh Cricket Club
The one-hundred-year-old family business, has supported Leigh Cricket Club for many years and has now become the club’s main headline sponsor, with the distinctive Moss logo proudly displayed on the front of its kit this season.
The sponsorship deal follows the business’ pledge last year to support its tenants with the rising cost of energy by lowering their energy costs through a £500k investment in solar panels, which has since been increased further to drive a more sustainable and energy efficient industrial estate.
