Why not come along to the next mee�ng of Lowton WI , on Thursday 2nd July , 7.15 pm, at Lowton Social Club , Newton Road A chance to socialise and meet new friends . At our last mee�ng we held a mini cra� show, which was organised by our cra� group, lots of very ar�s�c members took part.
Whilst judging took place we enjoyed a delicious strawberry cream tea and gave our thoughts on current local issues to our MP Jo Pla� who came along to see what we do
We also have trips out , our most recent was to the Hat Museum and Air raid shelter in Stockport.
LOCAL BUSINESS WOMAN CONQUERS IRONMAN 70.3 BOLTON
Local resident Aneliese Foxwell, owner of Foxy Yoga & Pilates and a Karate Instructor at the English Karate Academy, has achieved an incredible milestone by completing the prestigious IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton.The mum of three, from Lowton, only began her triathlon journey in September 2025, making her accomplishment even more remarkable. In less than a year she progressed from newcomer to crossing the finish line of one of the world's most challenging endurance events. IRONMAN 70.3, often referred to as a "Half Ironman", consists of a gruelling 1.2-mile (1.9km) open-water swim in Pennington Flash, followed by a 56-mile (90km) cycle ride, and finishing with a 13.1-mile (21.1km) half marathon run round the hills of Bolton. Competitors must complete all three disciplines consecutively, testing both physical endurance and mental resilience.While participation in triathlon continues to grow, women remain underrepresented in the sport, making Aneliese's achievement an inspiring example for other women considering taking on new challenges. Balancing family life, business commitments and her role as a karate instructor, she has demonstrated that determination and consistency can lead to extraordinary results. Speaking about her achievement, Aneliese hopes her story will encourage others to step outside their comfort zones and pursue their goals, regardless of age, background, or experience.Her message is simple: anything is possible. With dedication, hard work, and belief in yourself, even the most ambitious goals can become reality.

Man of the Year 2026 – Paul
We’re delighted to announce that Paul was crowned our Man of the Year 2026 at our 6:30pm Tuesday class at Lowton Travelodge. Paul’s achievement has been incredible — he has lost an amazing 6½ stone through dedica�on, consistency and making posi�ve lifestyle changes. Not only is he feeling fi�er and healthier than ever, but he’s now taking part in Parkrun every Saturday morning, showing just how far he’s come.
Paul has also completely changed the way he thinks about food, making healthier choices and building habits that support his long-term success.

Norman has recently achieved Target Member status with an incredible 2 stone weight loss — a fantas�c milestone and a reflec�on of all his hard work and commitment.
Alongside making posi�ve changes, Norman loves going to the gym, helping him build strength, confidence and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Awards Evening for The Three Towns
Following their recent powerful musical produc�on of The Yeomen of the Guard at St. Joseph’s Hall in Leigh, The Three Towns held their Annual Dinner and Awards Evening on 28th May at Culcheth Village Club. Long Service Awards for affilia�on to the Na�onal Opera�c and Drama�c Associa�on (NODA) were presented by Chair of The Three Towns, Ann Batchelor, to Allen Christey-Casson for 60 years of treading the boards, Steve Brennan, Susan Bradley, Ken and Gill Rees 50 years, Elsie Murphy and Catherine Kay 45 years, Susan Shaw and Elsa McGhee 30 years, Fran Davies 25 years and Paul Dainton 15 years. It was also a chance for the group to reflect on their recent award success elsewhere, too, with the society awarded Best Concert and Phil Boardman Best Musical Director for their Concerts in November 2025 by NODA. For their performance of Die Fledermaus at St. Joseph’s Hall in May 2025, Pamela-Heywood Connor John Ma�hias were awarded Best Comedy Duo as Rosalinda and Gabriel Eisenstein by NODA. The Associa�on of Community Theatre (ACT), awarded the society Most Accomplished Vocal Ensemble in Musical Comedy. Most Accomplished Suppor�ng Actress in Musical Comedy went to Victoria Goulden as Adele, Most Accomplished Character Performance Actor in Musical Comedy to Ken Rees as Frank.

next for The Three Towns?
The society is now in rehearsal for its annual concerts which will take place on Friday 20th (evening) and Saturday 21st November (ma�nee) at St. Joseph’s Hall, Leigh WN7 2PR. They’ll be performing a variety of Songs from the Shows, Broadway, West End, Popular and Classical Music, in a relaxed cabaret se�ng.
