“Rewind:
THIS is Croydon is set to unveil a captivating exhibition in February 2024, showcasing Croydon’s rich musical history. Titled “Rewind: This is Croydon’s Music,” the exhibit at the Museum of Croydon will delve into the borough’s diverse musical legacy, celebrating iconic artists and distinctive genres that have emerged from its streets.
Following the success of Croydon’s Music Heritage Trail last summer, the exhibition aims to capture the essence of Croydon’s musical prowess through a collection of objects, images, and stories contributed by the local music community. Croydon has been a breeding ground for talent across various genres, from classical composer Samuel Coleridge Taylor to punk legend Captain Sensible and dubstep icons Skream and Benga.
The exhibition will explore key themes such as the evolution of music on the high street, featuring a photographic history of iconic record stores and music instrument shops. Visitors can reminisce about venues that have played a crucial role in Croydon’s musical past, with a detailed map showcasing current and closed spaces. The contributions of individuals from Croydon to the music industry, as artists, producers, and creatives, will be highlighted through their stories and objects.

IMayor of Croydon in May 2022 to represent one of the country’s most diverse and youngest populations.
I represent the whole of Croydon and not just one small part, and I am directly answerable to residents who trusted me with the executive borough.
This is an honour that I do not take lightly. I am a Croydonian, born and bred, and I am and love. I inherited a broken, mismanaged, bankrupt council and we have begun a journey of rapid improvement.
This year I am looking forward to continuing the hard work required to ensure that Croydon Council continues to make the future.
I am prioritising transforming the council’s housing service, which will include the redevelopment of Regina Road and investment in our housing stock.
Tackling the ‘broken windows’ and restoring pride in our borough is a top priority for me which is why I made one removal team.

I am investing in the future of our young people with new playgrounds and refurbished tennis courts and cricket pitches in parks such as Thornton Heath, Norbury, Selhurst and Broad Green.
I am championing a new vision for a regenerated Croydon Town Centre and reforming planning policy to ensure we protect the character of our communities.
These are challenging but exciting times for Croydon, and I look forward to sharing more good news with you in the future.

Drones provide a unique vantage point, capturing high-resolution aerial images of a property. When assessing timber sash windows, this bird's-eye view allows for a comprehensive overview of the entire window structure, identifying potential issues that might go unnoticed during a ground-level inspection.

Modern drones have advanced imaging technologies that capture highresolution images and thermal data. This level of detail is instrumental in identifying potential timber decay, structural weaknesses, or insulation problems in sash windows. Moreover, the collected data can be analysed in-depth, providing a comprehensive report for informed decision-making.
Embracing drone technology aligns with a growing emphasis on sustainability and reduced environmental impact. Compared to traditional survey methods that may involve travel, equipment, and paper documentation, drones are a greener alternative, minimising the carbon footprint associated with property assessments.

FOOTBALL is the globe's most beloved sport, captivating millions with its blend of skill, strategy, and excitement. Over the engagement.
From the introduction of goal-line technology to advanced analytics, the fusion of technology and soccer has enhanced the sport's quality and broader reach and impact. The English Premier League is viewed by a global audience of over 1.5 billion viewers per season. The digital era has ushered in a new wave of fan engagement and broadcasting experiences. Social media platforms, streaming services, and interactive apps allow fans to connect globally with their favourite clubs and players. Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies enable immersive experiences, bringing fans closer to the action, whether it's through 360-degree stadium views or enhanced match simulations. VR is also used by players at the training ground, where they can relive moments of the game and analyse their choices to improve decision-making for future performance.
One of the most crucial advancements is goal-line technology (GLT). It was introduced to eradicate human error in crucial goal-line decisions. GLT utilises high-speed cameras and computer algorithms to determine accurately if the ball has crossed the goal line. This innovation has ended contentious debates surrounding disputed goals, providing clarity and fairness in match outcomes. Despite initial resistance, its successful integration has been pivotal
in ensuring the accuracy of gamechanging decisions.
The controversial implementation of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) has referees to review critical decisions, such as goals, penalties, and red card incidents, by analysing video footage. While intended to minimise errors, VAR has sparked debates due to its subjective interpretation. As of this stoppage time, rising from an average of 4 minutes to 8 minutes per match.

in-depth insights into athletes' physical and tactical aspects. GPS trackers, wearable devices, and advanced data analytics provide coaches real-time data on players' movements, distances covered, sprinting patterns, and heart rate variations. This information aids in devising personalised training regimes, preventing injuries, and optimising player performance on
Premier League, top-tier professional players typically cover an average distance of around 10-13 kilometres (6.2 - 8.1 miles) per match. Some of the fastest sprint speeds have been recorded by players such as Kyle Walker and Mohamed Salah, reaching speeds of over 36 kilometres per hour (approximately 22.4 miles per hour). Kylian Mbappe and Tyreek Hill (Miami Dolphins) have recorded similar times. Still, Usain Bolt leads the way, clocking in a top speed of 44 kilometres per

now using live data during games to assess players' fatigue and structure substitutions, with the most common time for a second-half substitute being made between 65-70 minutes. The use of data companies such as OPTA to record player statistics and multiple AI platforms clubs and players use to rank potential transfer targets and transfer valuations.
However, there remains a dangerous potential for over-reliance on technology and its impact on the spontaneity of the game continues to raise concern. As technology continues to evolve, striking a balance between innovation and maintaining the essence of ‘the beautiful game’ remains a critical challenge for the future of football.
