As May unfolds, it's time to shift our focus to honoring our beloved mothers. I firmly believe that dedicating just one day a year to express our gratitude to these remarkable women falls short of capturing the depth of their impact. May should be "Mother's Month."

This year holds special significance for me as I celebrate my mother's 65th Mother's Day. While I haven't been there for her entire journey through motherhood, arriving as the last of five children in 1969, I've witnessed her incredible strength and wisdom. Undoubtedly, I was a handful, ensuring she knew she was done having kids after me. Despite the challenges — from run-ins with nuns in elementary school to rebellious teenage behavior — she stood by me, sometimes nudging me forward when needed.

Our family is truly blessed to have had her presence enriching our lives all these years. Let's take this Mother's Day as an opportunity to shower all the moms in our lives with love and appreciation.

LOCAL RETIREMENT COMMUNITY CELEBRATES MILESTONE ANNIVERSARY

FIVE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Local seniors are invited to celebrate the five-year anniversary at the Reata Glen Rock and Walk. After check-in at 9 a.m., attendees will go on a self-guided walk, trot or run through the beautiful campus, and stop at lively stations along the way that offer refreshing drinks, gifts and a chance to meet the Reata Glen team.
