Welcome
Welcome to our June edition of Windsor & Maidenhead Local magazine, brought to you by Local Area Magazines. I mention Local Area Magazines as we now have a new website where the current digital editions of both this magazine and also our premier publication, Wokingham Local can be page turned and read online. What’s more, we are very excited to announce the launch this week of our third publication entitled ‘Cheshire’s Golden Triangle’ which incorporates the Cheshire towns and villages of Wilmslow, Alderley-Edge and Prestbury, and our team ‘up North’ are delighted to follow in the footsteps of our very popular Windsor & Maidenhead Local magazine. We wish them the best of luck!

So, what have we been up to recently, where have we been, and what have we seen? Well, we visited Holme Grange craft village and stopped off to see Gayle at Enchanting Glass Designs who offers bespoke and unique handmade fused glass art, and she also offers courses if you fancy a go yourselves? Poggenpohl has the most fabulous case study to share with contemporary kitchen architecture and design. Our teenage reporter Madison takes us on a trip to York, and I have the enviable job of tasting street food in Istanbul - well someone had to do it! What a ‘must see’ vibrant city it is, I have to say. We hear from Mel at Melanie Curtis Accountants and Jim at Hamilton Nash talks about conflict resolution, which is a very interesting read. Our local colleges and libraries have so much going on over the next weeks, and talking of events this issue is cram packed with festivals, craft markets, and shows; with something for everyone throughout our amazing Royal Borough.
For our homes and gardens we have ideas from ClickStyle and Marlow Roller Garage Doors & Awnings with Garden Glory features, and a ‘shout out’ to our loyal regular advertisers, including ABRS roofing (on the outside back cover) Abbeyfield Maidenhead Society, Greensleeves, Poggenpohl, Bombay Story Indian kitchen, (where I stopped off for a ‘5 minute’ chat with Pravin recently) Safeheat Services and many more.
So, what’s next? Well, how would you like to be involved in our Summer Special edition? Could you write an article, discuss a ‘5 minute with’ interview or share a recipe maybe, or promote your business even? The only time we turn an offer down is when we are sent press releases as we don’t accept these, due to the fact that these are usually boring! (There I said it!) And, talking of advertisements, did you know that our professional partnered media team and ad agencies will undertake all artwork and design - to your copy approval - completely ‘Free of charge’ - no other local, regional or national magazine can offer this to our exacting standards! What a fantastic statement to end on. So, until the Summer, enjoy the month of June and our Windsor & Maidenhead Local magazine.
