LOCAL 534 MEMBERS
COMPLETE COMPLEX
EPOXY FLOOR PROJECT IN BRIGHTON
Local 534 members Ermir Rama and first year apprentice Andrew Godfrey recently completed a complex epoxy floor project at the Auerbach Center at 100 Guest Street in Brighton. The installation consisted of a three-step process designed to provide a durable, chemical-resistant, and easy-toclean surface.
The project timeline was as follows:
♦ Day One: Preparation and installation of a cementitious urethane self-leveling base, broadcast with flint shot (fine sand).
♦ Day Two: Application of a grout coat using polyaspartic 100% solid urethane.
♦ Day Three: Application of a final topcoat of the same material to provide UV protection and prevent yellowing.
The signatory contractor for the project was New England Decks & Floors and the general contractor is John Moriarty & Associates.
