Jackson Blvd., Chicago Illinois 60604 What: Leave No Veteran Behind (LNVB) is proud to partner with American Legion Post 758 and the Military Affairs Committee at the Union League Club of Chicago to celebrate the legacy of African Americans in the military. Our guest of honor will be Lieutenant General Honore’ U.S. Army (Ret.) who will be interviewed live by Chicago luminary William E. (Bill) Lowry Jr. (Air Force). Eli Williamson, executive director of LNVB stated, “Lieutenant General Honoré and his actions during Hurricane Katrina was an inspiration not only to African Americans, but for all Americans. It will be great to hear his story through the interactive interview format that we will have for this event.” Last year at the Union League Club of Chicago, LNVB honored the 555th Parachute Battalion “Triple Nickles” and Colonel Christine B. “Nickey” Knighton U.S. Army (Ret.) was the keynote speaker. This year LNVB will continue this annual event to honor the role of African Americans in the United States Military. LNVB will also be highlighting and seeking support for its various programs that invest in our veterans in the areas of education, employment, and community service. Proceeds from this luncheon will go to support LVNB programming and are tax-deductable. About Leave No Veteran Behind LNVB a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational and employment opportunities to returning veterans who are facing economic hardship. As part of its efforts to help these veterans in the Chicago area, they have established a workforce development program that employs veterans in transitional employment and integrates on the job training and long-term placement opportunities. Currently, veterans employed by LNVB provide safe passage for Chicago Public School children in high violence neighborhoods. About Lieutenant General Honoré U.S. Army (Ret.) Lieutenant General Honoré is a native of Lakeland, Louisiana. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant of Infantry and awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Agriculture upon graduation from Southern University and A&M College in 1971. He holds a Master of Arts in Human Resources from Troy State University as well as an
