2023 LITTLE MISS AKA VICE-CHAIRMAN

Greetings!

It is my joy and honor to greet you as the ViceChairman of the 2022-2023 Little Miss AKA Pageant Program. Working alongside our Pageant Chairman, Katrina Overstreet, and other ViceChairman, Kyra White, has been an experience I will always cherish. From the beginning, our vision, goals, and heart’s desire for this program were all PEARLFECTLY aligned and from this, Reflections of Refinement: A FAIRYTALE JOURNEY began to soar!

Oh, these twenty-five beautiful Little Misses!

A true vision of today’s beauty and tomorrow’s promise.

All the planning, dedicated time and tireless work, was all worth it to have the opportunity to travel along this Little Miss AKA journey with these special young ladies! I have truly had the pleasure of getting to know each one of them and their unique and exceptional personalities and talents. Our Fairytale Journey, together, has been a blast! It began with us teaching the girls about the importance of giving back and being of service to others in our learning workshops, which included, a painting class at Eye Candy Art Studio, bowling and ornament decorating at I Luv Bowling with the dads, an Atlanta Hawk’s basketball game at State Farm Arena, and the Atlanta Ballet’s presentation of Beauty and The Beast at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center We also had the opportunity to put on our hats and gloves and learn a little about “high tea” while enjoying a fabulous Mother/Daughter Brunch, which I had the honor of leading Lastly, we were blown away by the exceptional talents of our Little Misses and Misters, as they showed up and showed out in the Little Miss AKA Talent show where we were honored to be graced by three HBCU Queens as our show judges! Whew, we ’ ve definitely had lots of fun! I would like to take a moment to thank each of our Little Misses and Misters for their time, obedience, respectfulness, and willingness to learn new things and try new activities. Our jobs were easy because you all were phenomenal young ladies and young gentlemen throughout this fairytale journey. For this I say, THANK YOU!

We have now arrived at the finale of this program, The Little Miss AKA Pageant! Each one of these young ladies and young gentlemen have been dedicated, worked extremely hard, and I am so proud of each of them! The Little Miss AKA Pageant’s success is based on the cooperation of the parents! You are the chauffeurs, the schedulers, the encouragers, supporters, etc Without you, we don’t have them to work with

THANK YOU for allowing me and the pageant leadership the opportunity to work with your children and be a part of this journey with them. You all are truly amazing parents and it’s been a blessing to work with you and your children. To the ladies of the Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Gwinnett Pearls of Service Foundation, thank you for your unwavering support throughout this program season. Your service and support of these Little Misses and Little Misters is priceless and so greatly appreciated. Thank you for the confidence to be a Vice-Chairman for the 2022-2023 Little Miss AKA Pageant Program This experience is one of the most gratifying experiences of my life as I truly find purpose in supporting and pouring into our young people to help them grow and develop They are the future, and we owe it to them to equip them with the tools, resources, education, and support systems they need to be successful! I can only hope that we ’ ve made you proud and you ’ ve enjoyed traveling with us on this FAIRYTALE JOURNEY!
